“No, Clinton was. Carter second worst.”

Right now I would prefer Millard Fillmore...the “do nothing President.” At least it would buy us some time.

Joined the “Declines To State Party.” I would urge all Republicans to do the same

OK. I was going to wait for the outcome, but what the heck. The RNC and Bush and the quislings have already shown sufficient contempt, so I'll do it this week, that is go to town hall and change my voter's registration.

I doubt it will have any effect, but it sure will clear my conscience.

Except the Kool Aid drinking Republicans, who are gone anyway

They're consoling each other over in the Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread. I kid you not, some over there are having trouble getting upset about immigration amnesty because "I love him too much". Seriously.

If you go there, make sure you refer to GWB as "Mr. President George W. Bush."

“Here’s a plan:”

1. VERY good, and most realistically doable.

2. Also good, a bit harder to accomplish politically.

3. Never happen, even churches/groups that disagree with illegal immigration would join to fight this as they would see it as a “camels nose in the tent” sort of thing.

But hey RavenATB, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad. Coming up with any suggestions is always better than merely bleating a party line.

“The North American Union is the answer.”

Wow. think of the possibilities there. We could adopt the Canadian style of Health Care. The Mexican idea of class structure (very rich, very poor, and virtually no middle class). And the gun control policies of both Mexico and Canada. Great thinking there bub.

I have been thinking about it for the last six months. The recent amnesty scam was "the last straw." Maybe my action will have an impact. If you change affiliation be sure to let your state Republican Party know together with the reasons for the change. State affirmative steps you would like to see implemented. I listed about five things I want to see done with regard to the Illegal Alien mess! (1) a two thousand mile fence;(2) no citizenship for "Anchor Babies;(3)terminate all transfer payments to non-citizens;(4)severe penalties, strictly enforced, against any employer hiring illegals; and, (5) the start of mass deportation of illegals even to the point of calling forth citizens to assist, if there is significant resistance.

Good Luck and God Bless.

Mr Bush is now in a position to treat those of us who put him in office for two terms, with all the contempt he would show toward cheap @$$ wipe that his fingers broke through while wiping. The rest of the yahoos in the House and Senate, upon whom he relies to bring this traitorous atrocity of a bill to fruition; are not quite so isolated from repercussions.

The amnesty bill if enacted, will eventually be the death of this country as we know it and love it, but first it will be the death of the Republican Party.

As they say: “Doing the same thing over and over expecting different results, is a sign of insanity.”

We, the Conservative base of the Republican party have been insanely believing the same old lies and electing the clones of the same old liars, while expecting different results, for several decades now, but we get the same old warmed over bull sh*t.

Never more, quoth we, in harmony with the raven.

If the $1,000 is paid for the application for a visa, then it’s a fee, not a fine. If it’s a fee, then it’s not a penalty. If it’s not a penalty, then it HAS to be amnesty, because it is removing the current penalty for illegally entering this country - deportation.

That’s why it’s amnesty. Well, that and the fact that businesses that have hired those illegals in the past would no longer face any sort of penalty for their criminal acts. That’s a second amnesty.

I can’t think of any situation in which I’d feel good about Bush shaking Ted Kennedy’s hand and leaning in to whisper something in his ear. Not a single one.

:-)

I disagree. A lot of the anger about illegal immigration is coming from the conservative movement, which is a lot of the base of many churches.

I think it would be relatively easy to marshal public support for stripping tax protection from churches participate in illegal activity, or assist those who do.

“I think it would be relatively easy to marshal public support for stripping tax protection from churches participate in illegal activity,....”

Doubt it would be easy. Sure you could get various small independants to go for it. Big mainstream council organizations of mainstream churches is another thing entirely. Still 2 out of 3 in my view. A good start.

Bush has indeed lost his grip on reality. He is NOT a conservative and has truly destroyed the republican base. Shameful!

“No one will get everything they want, but everyone will get something, and in the end, what we come up with is better for the country, and we all have to see it that way,” said Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez

Check out the name. Pretty much says it all.

We brush off his presidency.

The historians (if they still exist after Bush is through with us) will crucify his presidency as the worst in history.

It will take A REAL AMERICAN PRESIDENT years to undo the damage Bush has deliberately inflicted upon this country.

We complained about Slick Willy, but no one expected what we got when we elected this disaster of a president, Dumbya Bush.

I think it’s a simple matter of Bush identifying his “base” too early in the game...and not getting it right...and then giving everything he possibly could to the “false base,” if that makes any sense.

The “base” isn’t corporate CEOs. It’s conservative, working-class men and women across the Unites States...the same “base” that doesn’t walk down the street with Mexican flags crying “AMNISTIA!”

Kennedy and McCain don’t get it, and they never will.

So President Bush has issued a smack-down to those who challenge an amnesty program. In other words, a smack-down to the REAL “base.”

From where I stand, 2008 is going to be one of the most critical election years in U.S. history.

In all honesty, I don’t think the Democrats stand a chance. There’s too much division over Hillary, and to many facts yet to be released. And I don’t think voters will embrace Bill as first lady, or “gentleman,” or whatever he thinks he’s going to call himself. Watching Democrats discuss Hillary is like witnessing a cockfight...a lot of noise, a lot of feathers, a lot of drunks standing around cheering for no real “victory” at all.

“Rock Star” Obama? The shine will wear off of that one pretty quickly. The media may wish to paint a picture of him as JFK, but it’s a lie, and the truth will become apparent? He’s nothing more than a man lusting to be America’s first African-American president...plain and simple. He wants his page in the history books. He wants to give speeches. He wants to talk about brave new tomorrows but once you get past the marketing campaign he’s got NOTHING.

John Edwards? No, he’s already made his most critical error...picking up the soap for John Kerry.

The Democrats are basically looking for a pro-gay marriage, pro-abortion, atheist, anti-war charismatic figure. Good luck with that. This is still America.

The field is wide open for the Republicans in 2008, but I do not believe that the elections will result in President McCain or President Giuliani or President Romney. We’re still waiting for the winning candidate to step forward.

I vaguely recall that there is a penalty of $1,000, and a fee for the Z visa.

BUt I'm not 100 percent sure on that.

We’re still waiting for the winning candidate to step forward.

When Americans who don't know what's coming (amnesty for zillions) actually find out that we've been sold out, the winning candidate will be one who promises to immediately enforce ALL EXISTING immigration laws and close that Mexican border.

I don't know if this horrendous amnesty, if passed by the sellouts in the Senate and House, will be able to be "undone" by the next president or not, but it should be.

This amnesty bill can only be described as the SELLOUT OF AMERICA, and Bush's legacy will be that of the first American president to allow an invasion of our country by a third world dump while forcing American citizens to pay the bills.

Since Mexico's exportation of poverty, ignorance, violence, disease and dependence is costing American taxpayers BILLIONS every year, has anyone wondered why Mexico doesn't have to pay the bills?

>>No, Clinton was. Carter second worst.<<

Please don't misunderstand the following. I always hated Clinton, but I don't think he was ever foolish enough to attack his own base.

Now I think Bush has a dilemma:

1) If he keeps attacking us, it just energizes the anti-amnesty effort. In fact I think anything he says about it now helps us anti-amnesty folks.

2) If he shuts up, he can be accused of abandoning support for amnesty.
