Letter from Senator Jon Kyl
Sen. Jon Kyl ^ | 2 June 2007 | Self

Posted on 06/02/2007 10:30:23 AM PDT by radar101

Dear Mr. Radar101 MAY 9, 2007 (Arrived June 2)

Thank you for contacting me about immigration reform For the past several weeks, I have been a part of a group of senators meeting with administration officials to determine whether we can agree on key principals that would be pary of the immigration reform legislation. I have particiapated in those meetings to ensure as much as possible that my views are represented in any such legislation.
The talks are difficult, but my conservative colleagues and I are not satisfied with the Bill pased last year and are doing our best to push it in a more sensible direction.

As you may know, I have consistently argued that we must secure our Border; enforce the law throughout the country, including at the workplace; create temporary worker program to fill the employment needs when qualified American workers are not available; and deal with the population of illegal immigrants in the United States without granting amnesty.

Having seen the negative consequences of massive illegal immigration in Arizona, which are growing worse each day, I believe it is important for Congress to acheive consensus on legislation that weould restore respectfor the rule of law.

It is still too early to tell whether a complete agreement is possible, but I will continue to particiapate in the discussions to do my best to promote a strong fair bipartisan solution to what is a very difficult problem.

I look forward to your continued input

Jon Kyl

I have mentioned before that a fine congressional candidate named Randy ___ lost to a Democrat open borders person in AZ in 2006. It scared Kyl, who has since switched to open borders himself. Kyl fears being called “nativist”.

At least you got a response. I haven’t heard from Sen. Mr Elizabeth Taylor.

“Having seen the negative consequences of massive illegal immigration in Arizona,” I have signed onto a bill that would make matters even worse and more burdensome to the American people, Kyl wrote. “I look forward to your political support in the future.”

Nor have I. Deadeye Jim Webb hasn’t responded to my screeds, either.

Is Senator Kyl trying to make Senator Clinton look as if she isn't the only one in the senate who can't spell?

Perhaps being a misspelling creation is part of the job discription, if soo, just call me .senitor.

...consensus on legislation that would restore respect for the rule of law.

I wonder what he would answer if we asked him what caused "respect for rule of law" to have been lost in the first place.

All these elected people are "law makers", do they not respect the law? And if they do respect the law, then why talk about the loss of respect as though they are talking about the weather? Something that just blew in one day on its own. Gee, one day we got up, and there was no respect for law around here.

I’m not sure why he expects illegal aliens to uphold & respect the rule of law after being given amnesty when they broke it to come here illegally.

I sure wish JD Hayworth was still in Congress.

Why should we respect the rule of law more than you do Senator Kyl?

This is unsubstantiated because I neglected to save the source (bad case of CRS) but I saw a theory that Kyl wants a federal judgeship...Bush nominates him, and Kennedy smooths the path through the Senate...

There has to be SOME reason for these previously conservative Republicans to be willing to commit political suicide....or maybe not.;(

Dear Dick Ed Kyl,

Just finish building the fence you promised
and enforce existing immigration laws.

Ted Kennedy and other bipartisan Rat support
is not necessary, and in fact should be discouraged.

Signed,

Native Born American Voter

.

.

(Forward enough messages to the klutz and maybe
even a dumb Dick Ed like him will able to eventually
get a grasp on the issue.)
