I am starting to like Fred more and more. I am getting tired of his failure to officially affirm or definitively negate his candidacy; he is beginning to annoy me on this.

From the article: He had a warning for the federal courts, urging them to show restraint and respect the Constitution.

“If they continue to act like politicians, the American people are going to start treating them like politicians, and that’s not good news for them,” he said.

NICE!!! I am dying to hear Thompson’s take on fourth and fifth amendment abuse.

"You've got to secure the border first, before you do anything," he said. "The members say it's right here in this bill: the border. The response is, 'We don't care what's on a piece of paper -- secure the border.' This piece of paper doesn't secure the border." Mr. Thompson said the new bill is "the same deal" offered in the 1986 amnesty -- legalization of illegal aliens in exchange for border security -- but said Americans won't be fooled again.

Right said Fred!

BTW up yours George (Kennedy) Bush

From what I see, I sue like Fred Thompson.

He certainly outshines the pygmy sellout currently in the White House.

Secure the Borders, Ensure no jobs are available to illegals, No Taxpayer gifts to them, they will go home. No deportation will be needed.

Secure the Borders, Enforce the laws that exist. U.S. Government doing the job the U.S. Government is designed to do. It’s so simple. What is there to debate? Why new laws when we have laws? Simply enforce the laws.

Fred is saying what we feel! If Fred can channel the righteous anger that is sweeping across our Republic into a passionate defense of the goodness of America, then he can quickly overwhelm the frontrunner's. Heck, a good percentage of regular democrats would be persuaded to help give him an overwhelming win over the Socialists. I pray Fred stands strong on the side of Liberty, securing our borders, and the WOT. (Also, it would be great if he would call AGW what it is, a total fraud -- I know, attacking AGW is too much to hope for at this point :)

Could we get one on the border, by any chance?

Then by all means let’s adopt a guest worker program.

(in that order)

I think Fred can win. I think he is purposely waiting for something, some event or indication to run. I like Romney but I think the public will see him as too manufactured and to beholden to corporate interests. Funny thing is, he’s campaigning without spending money. His name is saturating the news and any money he raises after he enters can be used with more discretion because he will have more of it.

From the "Richmond Times-Dispatch"

Crowd cheers ex-Tenn. senator

This caught my eye at the end of the piece:

However, Thompson criticized congressional Democrats for failing to achieve consensus on the war in Iraq. He said Democrats seem content to allow the war to continue, hoping they will benefit politically if voters continue to weary of the conflict.

“Former Sen. Fred Thompson yesterday said there is a giant disconnect between voters and politicians in Washington and that the immigration bill is the chief reason.”

The immigration bill is a symptom, not a cause.

But I support Thompson (Fred) or Hunter.

I rather believe it to be the chief result.
