It would be a real tragedy if we tried to make this immigration debate one dealing with terrorism." - Sen. Reid (D) NV (Reported by Andy Selepak, Accuracy in Media)

In a 5/30/07 Accuracy in Media article by Andy Selepack, it seems the true tragedy is Senator Harry Reid standing with terrorists, under the guise of "comprehensive immigration reform."

Reid thinks it would be a tragedy if the debate over immigration addressed how potential terrorists enter the United States? Isn't the purpose of an "immigration reform" bill to regulate and restrict who enters and stays in our country? Shouldn't it be a given that terrorists are to be kept out of the U.S.? And what about all the blather from the politicians, supposedly to reassure us that "border security, national security, enforcement" are ALL being addressed as priorities in the new SHAMNESTY bill?

Senator Reid's statement about separating the immigration debate from terrorism represents a break with reality, and a total violation of trust. We must hold him accountable, along with ALL the U.S. Senate!

Six of the September 11th hijackers. committed KNOWN immigration fraud prior to taking part in terrorist slaughter. But they were permitted to stay in the U.S. anyway.

The bottom line is that illegal alien amnesty bills help terrorists ruthlessly kill Americans, even on sovereign American territory.

So here's the question: WHY GRANT AMNESTY to TERRORISTS illegally living in the U.S. right now?

Voting in favor of an amnesty bill under the circumstances of a terror war is tantamount to turning a blind eye to terrorists on American soil plotting to kill Americans. Why do we tolerate this dereliction of duty by our government officials, putting our lives at risk?

Let's secure the border, build the fence, stop the flood of intruders, and identify and isolate the hostile and/or criminally-associated illegal aliens already here. Then, at the very least, let's immediately deport those with terrorist ties and the known violent felons -- before they try to kill us again. Who says we cannot deport all of them? America is not a suicide pact! Recent reports indicate that the police powers in the federal government have a very good compilation of data on many of who these people are, and where they are. Deporting the clearly seditious, hostile, dangerous and violent among us who are here ILLEGALLY is an overt constitutional obligation, not a constitutional violation. Such enforcement is the first and only "immigration reform" that makes any sense until authentic national security is established.

Why can't the White House, Democrats and Republicans agree on that? Why do they insist on putting us and our nation all in mortal danger?

...she could be deported.

Why, this amounts to cruel and unusual punishment to a poor woman who stole to feed her starving non-English speaking family.

For English, press one.

I live in Rochelle. There are any number of illegals here, because of agricultural jobs. I’ve yet to see this story in our local newspaper (but that’s not unusual; they’re slow on the uptake). Anyway, the arraignment was in LaSalle County; Rochelle is in Ogle County. Apparently, Mendota police (LaSalle County) had something to do with this investigation. Mendota is over 30 miles South, so I don’t understand the connection, which isn’t explained in the story. That’s a long drive every day if she works down there.

That was Mike DeWine’s stunt back in 2000. Once safely re-elected he went back to being McCain’s water boy. In 2006 he once again veered right on the campaign trail. We Buckeyes were wise to him this time. He’s now “practicing law” with a Cincinnati firm.

The 34-year-old Marquez does not speak English and relied on a Spanish interpreter in court.

Oh sure. She couldn't speak English but knew enough to have fraudulent ID and identity theft.

I knew a guy who worked as an EMT in NYC. He said that they would arrive at the scene of some incident and everyone involved was speaking good English. The first cop arrives on the scene and it was "No hablo Engles" and an interpreter was required.

Can't speak English? What a crock.

I’ve had some thoughts about that, and I’m near to concluding that some powerful people want there to be terrorist attacks here, probably so that fedgov can clamp down on what remains of our liberties and freedoms, because they want to rule us in totalitarianism.

I’m near to that conclusion, but I’m not quite there yet. It’s all so tinfoily.

No, it's not. What took you so long?

They are being forced to listen to the American people.

We're not going to let this happen.

THE BIG PR PUSH for the bill is to confuse people about whether or not this IS AMNESTY, and also to LIE about whether the bill will secure the border.

If someone steals your car – and they get to keep your car – that’s amnesty. Suppose a thief stole your car, but they can just pay a fine and keep the car.

Ordinarily, when we are talking about crime and punishment, criminals pay a fine and go to jail but they also must return the car. The punishment does not begin until the stolen property is RETURNED or recovered.

If you can steal a $20,000 car, pay a $5,000 fine, and KEEP the $20,000 car — for a NET GAIN of $15,000, WHERE’S THE PUNISHMENT? That is amnesty. (And the statistics show that illegal aliens will get $21,000 in benefits every year, net of taxes they pay.)

Illegal aliens must leave the USA, not just pay a fine. Under the AMNESTY (there I said it) bill, illegal aliens will get to KEEP what they stole — illegal presence and illegally working inside the USA.

Also, the immigration amnesty bill DOES NOT REQUIRE THE BORDER TO BE CLOSED. The deal allows 12 million invaders to gain instant amnesty with a “Z” visa – even if the border has not been secured. Illegal aliens don’t need citizenship to work, so the border never needs to be secured. The “Z” visa goes into effect immediately.

Then, millions more will follow, by getting false affidavits from their friends that they were in the USA before January 1, 2007.

THIS SHOULD BE CALLED THE OSAMA BIN LADEN / AL QAEDA WELCOME MAT BILL OF 2007. Al Qaeda can walk into the country any time they want, and simply submit fake affidavits when they arrived.
