One of the author mentioned, Greg Bear, has an April 2007 novel called QUANTICO that has some FBI agents working on bioterrorism threat, including one sent to the Middle East on secret missions and another back at Quantico.
While I haven't yet read QUANTICO, I found another new similarly plotted novel riveting. It had two main CIA characters -- one an analyst at Langley and one an undercover agent in Afghanistan under a non-official cover. Title is the "Faithful Spy." It will be interesting to see how "Quantico" compares.
We just need to launch a couple of photon torpedoes into bin laden’s zip code.
I included the wrong URL for the article.
Who needs time travel when Al Queda is already living in the 7th century?
Alas, “Quantico” is not one of Bear’s better novels. It ends abruptly and stupidly, IMHO. Either he just got tired/lazy or the book’s editor did a lousy job.
I assuming we still have DARPA.
