It is good and to the point. It also deserves an answer. Why? We know why the ‘house of lords’ wants it, I just can’t figure out why the President is trying to force this slimy abomination down the throats of those who have stood by him for the last six years.
Like father like son. Bush doesn't care about the conservatives in this country. We were the useful idiots who elected him. He's got more important matters on his mind.
Because his time is running out. He desperately wants to get the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) put in place before he leaves office. And a large part of that is, in effect, eliminating the border between the US and Mexico. I guess he thinks that will be a great legacy.

Bush really believes his [don’t call it] amnesty is the right thing to do come hell or high water, plus now he is quite desparate for a legacy other than the Iraq debacle. He sees an immigration “victory” that will be hailed in the worldwide liberal MSM for “bringing them out of the shadows”, etc. as just such a legacy builder.
Also, legacy building is the reason for Bush’s suddenly going green, IMO. Policy wonks are pushing Bush on both these issues is my guess.
