John McCain Warns Illegal Immigration Enforcement Could Lead to Riots

Just when the dust was beginning to settle following President Bush's latest assault on common sense, in which he accused conservatives of "spreading fear" by being honest about amnesty, Senator John McCain decided that fear mongering was not such a bad tactic after all. In fact, McCain decided that fear mongering was essential in trying to sell his amnesty snake oil to a skeptical and increasingly suspicious public.

On June 2, McCain rolled out his fear-based defense of amnesty on the campaign trail in Le Mars, Iowa. Responding to a question about deportation of illegal aliens, McCain delivered the following dilly: "In case you hadn't noticed, the thousands of people who have been relegated to ghettos have risen up and burned cars in France,'' McCain said. "They've got huge problems in France. They have tremendous problems. The police can't even go into certain areas in the suburbs of Paris. I don't want that in the suburbs of America.''

Following the riots there should be an even more widespread CRACKdown on illegal alien employers..

Had it been McCain in charge, the war against the Mafia would have not been fought at all.

He surely acts like he's on their payroll. McCain has always given me the creeps.

Deputize with limited immunity and incentive-inducing bounties. Let the states do the same thing to employers.

Yes, this will create corrupt coalitions of illegals ratting each other out and paying off politicos, but is that really any worse than what we have now?

Oh Mr. McCain, please save us from these coming riots and destruction, please give them amnesty so they won't burn our cities.

Illegals rioting? All the more reason to kill this bill. We want to give amnesty to a group of people who have so little respect for our country and our laws that they violently rebel against us.

Keep your powder dry. I’m not submitting to policy by riot, and I doubt anyone else here is either. What an absolutely cowardly position to take. We have to appease them or else they will riot? Are you freekin kidding me?

Thank God for the Second Amendment.

How does a man survive all those years in NVA capture

The bigger question is:

What did he do there that fellow POW (and my congressman) Sam Johnson was so repulsed by that Johnson refused to endorse McCain for President?

IIRC, the MAJORITY of the rioters in the 1992 LA Riot were Hispanic.

I have seen, with ever growing concern, the brazen disconnect between the will of the American people and our elected representatives on the subject of Amensty. Obviously, there will be dissent on the best way to deal with the continually growing influx of illegal aliens to our country; but there is a strong majority who believe we must stem the tide - and do it now!

Over the years, people have gotten used to hearing the word "right" slapped onto every cause and into many a slogan/jingle. It's gotten so that anyone can claim anything as a "right," when the reality is that many of the things we hold dear are not "rights" at all, they are privileges.

The Constitution specifically enumerates what "rights" we, as human beings, possess by virtue of our humanity - for those who believe in God, our Divine Birthright. But many of the comforts we enjoy: medical care, education, social assistance, etc., are privileges of living in America, paid for American taxpayers. While basic rights should be extended to all people in our shores, legal or not, the "privileges" that come from being an American should only be extended to those who were invited to join our Society. This is what irks many the most. Not only are privileges of citizenship being extended to non-citizens, they are being offered on a platter!

While I applaud our folks for leading the charge, making the calls, and sending the e-mails/faxes to propose this onerous legislation, it appears that Washington stands ready to turn a deaf-ear. Our howls of outrage are becoming "white noise."

Perhaps it is time to make a more visual presence? Just a few ideas came to me, and I will happily let other FReepers take the helm:

How about we turn out, en masse, wearing the color RED to symbolize our anger? Red, one of the colors of our great flag? Red, the color of patriotic blood, shed to preserve our country? Red, the color of countless victims' blood, shed by illegal criminals finding safe harbor in our shores? Red, the color of the ink used to print the huge balooning national deficit our children will face due to all the "entitlements" this amnesty bill will heap upon us? Red ribbons. Red lettering on signs. Red bumper stickers "NO AMENSTY."

Like the "Gore/Leiberman" "Sore/Loserman" slogans, and the "Support the Troops" rallies before - or even the "Count the Silverware" campaign, I think that actions will definitely speak louder than words.
