Coalition Forces conduct medical operation in Tunis Multi-National Division Baghdad PAO
BAGHDAD Paratroopers from 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division teamed up with troops from 3rd Battalion, 1st Brigade, 11th Iraqi Army Division conducted a combined medical operation in the Tunis area of the Adhamiyah District May 29.
More than 70 Iraqi men, women and children were seen during the operation, as local doctors assisted in treating patients during the event. An Iraqi Ministry of Health official was also on hand overseeing the operation.
The operation was conducted in order to provide free healthcare to residents of the neighborhood, who couldnt otherwise afford medical treatment.
The free clinic was just one part of a concerted effort by Iraqi and Coalition Forces in the area to improve living conditions for local residents. Other projects have included trash removal, landscape renovations and temporary protective barrier emplacements.
