Not that there had been much doubt as to where MSNBC newsreader Mika Brzezinski stands politically . . . The MSNBC newsreader is, after all, the daughter of Jimmy Carter's erstwhile National Security Advisor, Zbigniew Brzezinski. And as we have noted before, today wasn't the first time Mika's expressed liberal views. Still, it was jarring to hear Brezinski on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" [an occasional show hosted by Joe Scarborough in Imus's former time slot] at 6:24 am EDT today, spout criticism of President Bush with a vitriol worthy of an "out" Dem partisan.
The springboard was a discussion among Mika, Joe and actor-director-writer John Ridley of the moment in last night's GOP presidential debate in which Rudy deftly dealt with the lightning strike just as he was explaining his pro-choice views. Ridley opined, to the agreement of the others, that Rudy handled the impromptu moment more smoothly than President Bush does his scripted ones. Scarborough observed that "we do need elected leaders who can communicate effectively," and pointed out that it was Tony Blair, not President Bush, who in a closed-door session with Congress had made the most effective case on behalf of the Iraq war. That's when Mika pounced.
MIKA : We're looking for someone who is going to be able to communicate globally and sort of repair what some may believe is a huge problem in terms of our reputation and respect for ourselves around the world. The "some may believe" was only the barest of cover for what was clearly Mika's personal opinion. She immediately erased any doubt that she was aiming her dart at President Bush by ending her intervention by archly exclaiming "Vladimir!", an allusion to President Bush having recently referred to the Russian leader that way.
Mika-mocks-W ping to Today show list.
we’re still trying to undo the damage her father did during the carter administration.
I doubt an insult from an airhead will get too much attention.
If Hillary is the next President, there is going to be a lot more damage.

Starting with the border.
The next president needs to keep killing terrorists.

I think what leaves FReepers like Mark annoyed and incredulous is that "airheads" like Mika make six figure salaries doing their full-time "job" half as well as Mark does his unpaid labor of love on the media beat.
Ah, well - they're sucking that tit dry as we speak. :-)
Hollywood, CNN, and Planned Parenthood are responsible for anti American feeling abroad, not Bush who has many friends and even more allies.
Geez . . . I thought Katy Couric had that use of "some" copyrighted! ;-)
No one ever said liberal airheads do not get paid well.
It never ceases to amaze...
Sounds like the nutjob I saw on the way to work this morning. He was driving his kid, or maybe his boy-toy, around with a “BUSH—4 More WARS” bumper sticker, a “Jesus Was A Liberal” sticker and little picture of Che’ on the back window. Plus, a Jesus Fish with the word “evolve” inside of it.
I made a swirling motion with my index finger next to my temple as I drove by in my F-250.
Many thanks aas. I would mention that after beginning as the unpaid author of vanity posts here at FR, I do get paid — something more than a pittance and less than a king’s ransom — for my items at NewsBusters that I cross-post here.
Note to Mika: The damage done that you speak of is a falsehood made up be socialist polls and media. When the people around the world actually get to vote, they have been voting center-right and voting in pro-Bush candidates. Take note of Germany, Australia, France, now Italy, and perhaps Spain. Not to mention Japan.
In other words, you are believing your own (MSM) BS! The people are voting, and it isn't for your weak spined leaders.
Had the Republicans not been voted out of both Houses the border issue would have been dealt with properly.
