Boot camp was a long time ago, but I’m pretty sure protecting American shipping in international waters was part of the mission statement.

Before I get my unmentionables in a knot I'd like to know if those guys were looting Spanish territorial waters. If they're pirates, the Spaniards can have 'em.

Who gets to adjudicate where in perdition they were?

What a surprise. We show that we don’t have the collective will to take on seventh century savages what do you expect from others?

I suppose the democrats are already drafting the surrender plea to the Spanish.

"I suppose the democrats are already drafting the surrender plea to the Spanish"

Na, this is about money; and the rats can smell that stuff from several continents away. If you want to watch demon-rats fight with their claws ripping apart flesh, a fight over money would be second only to one over power.

like the Spanish have been contesting this for hundreds of years. As my Dad would have said it, “Spain, go scratch your A—.”

Key words:

“The court in the southern port city of Cadiz instructed police to capture the vessels should they leave the British colony of Gibraltar, on Spain’s southern tip, and enter Spanish waters, leading radio station Cadena SER and other media outlets reported”

Not sure if they can leave without entering Spanish waters, but according to the article, the monies have already been flown to the US.

Another MSM spin.

Didn’t I hear JOHN EDWARDS is a major investor in this treasure hunting ship?

I say hand it over to Spain, and tell Mr. Edwards: So sue them.

In the day, the Spanish had the money and the English were the pirates. Looks like roles have reversed.

...and it’s not unlikely that Spain lost more treasure to wrecks than it did to English piracy. This particular engineered crisis pertains to Spain’s attempts to retake Gibraltar. :’)
