That is the truth, the demorats are planning to run mark warner, so the old I'm going to vote for warner will screw everything up, however, the piece of --it should have stepped down six years ago.
You got to be careful before throwing around terms like unAmerican traitors and calling people like US Senators those names
Do you mean like when GW called the Minutemen a “vigilante” group? Or how about how McCain has been calling people who disagree with McCain\Kennedy bigots and stupid for disagreeing.Seems to me people on the other side of these arguments can say what they want !!!
The Kennedy Wing of the Republican Party.
Yes, and Hitler served honorably in the german army. He was wounded in WW1. Does this mean that he is beyond reproach and cannot be criticized?
The character and worth of a person is not solely defined by past accomplishments, but by what that person does each and every day of life.

You lost me when you mentioned “Linda Chavez”...talk about extremism (Hispanophila)
This issue is not splitting conservatives. Splitting the GOP, yes....but not conservatives. Conservatives value the rights of America and Americans.....respecting legal immigrants while not rewarding illegals.
If this stinking mess passes, we should all stop working and go to the beach until they change their minds.
I hope the good people of S. Carolina show him the door.
I watched c-span 2 last night, and I saw Kennedy and Graham get emotional and tag team defense of this bill. At one time Graham became so mad , he was spitting and pacing.Someone was trying to hurt his “baby”. Even Obama said there are problems . He wanted a sunset provision to review how it works in 5 years, but NO, there will be no change allowed for 14 years. I watched them vote for English , then remove that provision, just covering their a””.
I admit, I voted for Graham. How he fooled me , I don’t know. But as soon as I calm down, I will write his letter of termination. Graham, YOU’RE FIRED.

The rhetoric on either side has not split the conservative movement. I will agree, however, that it has split the Republican party. That is the problem with the Republican party, it has too many who are not conservatives. And, the bill almost passed before with a Republican majority. On this issue, I don’t see any difference between who is in control.
we should all stop working and go to the beach
Yeah, and when you return you’ll find your job backfilled with one of the “new citizens” !!!
I think there is a good chance to dump Hagel and Graham. I suspect the others you list will survive the next election cycle, although Ive read the Dems are targetting Snowe.
I think you must mean Collins. Snowe has a long way to go (2012) before the Democrats can do anything.
Those are fighting words.

The guy challenging Hagel in the primary is currently polling 9 points ahead of Hagel. Sounds like the people of Nebraska have had it with him, too.
So did Benedict Arnold and John Murtha. Over time, things and people change - not always for the better.
As far as vulnerable Democrat Senators, I would like to see some strong challengers to Max Baucus of Montana, Tim Johnson of South Dakota (the man is very sick and probably won't run again), that idiot Landrieu in Lousiana (Bobby Vindal, I think, ought to replace her...), Mark Pryor of Arkansas (how about you, Huckabee??), Frank Lautenberg of Jersey.
It is not inconceivable to have a Republican Senate in 2009.
They’ve caught up to me. I’ve been referring to Ben Nelson (D-NE) as the Conservative Senator from Nebraska for a couple of years now.
Not only did La Raza Lindsey call illegal alien amnesty opponents “bigots”...but called them “bigots” in front of a group (La Raza) that is way Hispano-Centric and also supports the “Aztlan” movement.....returning US territory in the SW back to Mexico.
Lindsey seems tobe hangin’ with the bigots
Any Democrats opposed to the bill? Any chance of filibuster?
I am highly disappointed in Linda, but she has been a reliable conservative on other issues for many years.
While I think she has considerably over-reacted, her reaction is, I think, an emotional and tribal one created by exactly this type of rhetoric, and worse.
Tossing red meat to the true believers may be fun, but it is far more likely to alienate the waverers that you need to actually defeat the bill.
Since you don’t need to convince the true believers, who are already on your side, what can such rhetoric do except drive away those who might otherwise provide the margin of victory?
Good comment. Being unBush is not being unAmerican. 65% on the electorate are not unAmerican and especially those who are not chickenhawks.
