Don’t forget that Bill Clinton engaged in adulterous sodomy with Monica Lewinskey on Easter Sunday. It was just another day to him.
He also engaged in the act with her while he was deploying troops on the phone.
People consider “the act” but not the situations.
Thanks - I really was trying to forget.
What frightened me is that he twisted the meaning of the passages so that they conformed to the point he was trying to make
—
To quote Mark Twain: “They have the words, but not the music.”
Unbelievable that the Dems need a seminar on how to connect with the American public religiously. I hope they had a course on conspicuously carrying a huge Bible to and from church. Oh, making sure to sing in a choir and be front row and center, and televised.
I’m listening to Rush talking about this (he talked about it on Tuesday). He’s right, they’re libs trying to call themselves Christian.
I only recently discovered him — man what a piece of work. I will take every opportunity I can to put out the information that Jim Wallis, Glenn Palmberg (of the Evangelical Covenant Church), and Tony Campolo are all on the board of Call to Renewal, another social justice group that broke off Sojourners (I think due to logistical reasons).
I don’t understand how the E Covenant conservatives can’t see what is going on in their denomination... the E Cov is very adept at double-speak which makes people at opposite ends of the spectrum believe they’re in agreement with them. It’s like beauraucrats and politicians that never really give a straight answer to a question. It’s amazing. I fell for it (even while being very conservative) for 6 years, never quite able to figure out what was wrong.
Do you really think they haven’t already ‘discovered’ God and REJECTED his truth?
Jesus wasn’t about ‘encouraging’ people to repent and believe. HE commanded it. You either obey, or you didn’t.
I feel a song coming on:
It's A Personal Thing (by Steve Taylor)
(The press conference):
It's a personal thing, and I find it odd
you would question my believing in a personal God
I'm devout, I'm sincere, ask my mother if you doubt it
I'm religious, but I'd rather not get radical about it
the old-time believers had timidity and grace
but this new generation doesn't know its place
you're entitled to believe, but the latest Gallup Poll
says you mustn't interfere--that's the government's role
chorus:
'Cause when you throw your hat in the bullring
before you know it's a personal thing
and when he comes to the day of reckoning
he's gonna tell 'em, "uh, uh, uh, it's a personal thing"
(The nomination speech):
It's a personal thing, and I boldly state
that my views on morality will have to wait
'til my personal life's out of the public eye
and the limitations statue can protect my alibi
I'm devout, I'm sincere, and I'm proud to say
that it's had exactly no effect on who I am today
I believe for the benefit for all manking
in the total separation of church and mind
(chorus)
(The victory night):
It's a personal thing, and I plainly speak
(from the same code of ethics that I held last week)
as I promised if elected this election day
with the help of God almight...I'll do it my way
(chorus)
(We love polemic songwriter Steve Taylor!)
Ugh... it was Easter Sunday??? I didn’t realize that. yuck.
lol
I'd like to know if he actually reads it, and what translation it is.
"by their fruits we shall know them."
