Well she (Liddy Dole) invented the 'withhold the highway funds if the states don't pass the laws we like' tactic. Which has become the biggest hammer in the arsenal of the FedGov and done much to reduce State autonomy. She is still very proud of that - because it was for a good reason (in her opinion). Unfortunately the libs quickly learned the lesson and their uses of the funding-withold-mandate is not for such wonderful purposes.
