Nice twisty thinking, but my take is that GW hasn’t been ahead of the curve on immigration from the start, plus after 7 tough years, I think (like most 2 term presidents) he’s lost a good bit of his mojo.
It’s gotta be the most thankless job going... I wouldn’t want it.

What is interesting is how McCain and the rest of the idiot pro-amnesty Republicans have exposed themselves on this issue. It is almost as though they don't talk to any middle class people in their home states any more.

I was merely offering an alternative explaination for what seems to be a very, very stupid move on the White Houses part. Sometimes things are what they seem to be. And in this case I think it's nothing more than the latest in a collection of bone-headed moves on the part of the administration.
