Decades long? Try centuries long. President Washington alluded to it in his farewell address. 'Progressives' may have gone by different names over the years...Federalists, Whigs, Republicans, even Democrats, but the story is still the same. Now we even 'grow' our own centralized government 'progressives'. And the 'conservatives' cheer....

generally, i have found "progressives" to be hate-filled, arrogant, ignorant of the most basic behavior expected of ladies/gentlemen in polite society,sanctimonious, FASCIST & SELF-important.

all too many are also anti-semites & RACISTS, when you really get into a deep conversation with them (if you must!!!).

Yep. Early Southerners were primarily of Scot/Irish descent, yankees were primarily British. They were fighting long before they arrived here.
