Yep, we could take a page or two from France’s immigration playbook as well.
Sarkozy will do the job on the border Americans won’t do.
So Reuters on Yahoo! has the story;
but AP on Yahoo! does NOT.
They almost always track each other like for like.
Funny thing about this one, eh?
I truly hope that “Sarko like politicians” continue to be successfully elected in many other parts of the world! This is also very important for both the ongoing War on Terror and for commonsense to truly succeed “for the good guys” all over the world!

Here’s the link to the leftist journal Le Monde as they try desperately to spin a crushing defeat for socialists, communists and green party leftists...
C’est une veritable revolution!
If only we too had a leader we could rally behind.
We do. His name is Fred.

Amazing that France is starting to show more guts than us on a lot issues.
Don’t forget about Duncan! Fred Thompson/Duncan Hunter ‘08!
American Left deeply saddened.
Great. Hopefully this large majority will enable him to do everything to set France straight again.
Sounds like the same cr@p here when Reagan got elected back in the 1980’s. The French are waking up while we are going to sleep !
Good point.
In my opinion, the French have really turned their backs on their recent political past, like the U.S did in 1980 with Ronald Reagan and Great Britain in 1979 with Margaret Thatcher.
Eh, eh. Le Monde says 360-420 in Assembly

the left and centrists said a crushing right-wing majority was unhealthy and threatened democracy. That's odd... I thought the "right-wing" adjective had been discontinued when the MSM referred to President Sarkozy. But anyway, I very much doubt that the centrists said any such thing, because Sarkozy's party *is* centrist (Le Pen leads the "right-wing" voters) -- obvisusly more shilling by the media. Maybe we should just spell it "medea" and get it over with. ;') Thanks Cincinna, and I'd like to dogpile on the congratulations for the UMP.
Le Monde also says the election is not valid. There is no mandate:
"Usanctioned election. After having passed very close to the record of the participation in a presidential election one month ago, France records an absolute record of abstention for a legislative election under the O C République."

I remember 25 years back, while shopping in a record shop (pre-CDs) in what was the big local mall, listening to some kind of stupid political rap record, in which Reagan’s landslide was derided as not representing a mandate. One wonders how we should have been presided over by any Dhimmicrat since 1944, other than FDR and LBJ... :’)
"There are crushing majorities that crush, dominant parties that dominate, absolute powers that govern absolutely," Socialist leader Francois Hollande warned.
Hollande was surely singing a different tune when the Socialists were the "absolute power(s) that govern absolutely."
I remember shortly after the 2004 election a liberal acquaintance of mine waxed poetic about the necessity of separation of powers. I explained about the Dems massive majorities for 40 years prior to 1994, how in 1968 there were (roughly) the Presidency, 68 Senators, 298 Congressmen, vast majority of Governorships, state legislatures all in Dem hands. Then I asked him if he thought that was wrong. Needless to say he tried a song and dance about different times, different challenges, etc.
The problem with Socialists/Dems to be in an absolute majority is that they are then an absolute majority that worships government.
