KUALA LUMPUR (AFP) - Oil-rich Iran Monday announced it will help build five new refineries across Asia with a total capacity of 1.1 million barrels per day in a bid to strengthen ties in the region.
"Iran has finalised feasibility studies for five refining projects in five Asian countries with a total capacity of 1.1 million barrels per day," Seyed Kazam Vaziri Hamaneh, Iran's petroleum minister said.

Maybe we could get Iran to build a few refineries in America.
Which is why they’re trying to build more refineries—makes sense. Except for China (which was obviously picked for its big market and booming economy), the four Asian countries are Muslim. Trying to further the Muslim alliance.
Iran imports a much higher percentage of the gasoline they use than the US imports.
