PETA pushes for excise tax on meat
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | June 11, 2007 | NA

Should hunters -- or anyone who enjoys a steak or a hamburger -- have to pay extra for that little indulgence?

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals thinks so. One of the nation's largest anti-hunting organizations, the group has kicked off a "Tax Meat" Campaign, proposing a 10-cent-per-pound excise tax on meat. Animal activists have also asked federal lawmakers to give tax breaks to those who have sworn off the consumption of animals.

Hunters and fishermen and women already pay a Federal excise tax on all firearms, ammo and fishing gear etc. We also pay for license to hunt and fish and BIG time bucks for out of state licenses. I think we should tas PETA and call it a misery tax. That is all they cause misery.

Lol, what a beautiful post!!

Strangely the 1000 and the 1024 look exactly the same!! So you can use 1000. Wonder why that is?

The 900 leaves one and 1/4 inch of white on the right.

The Brahma was a nice touch.... forgot his name!

In other words, anyone could apply for that. Just tell the government you’re a vegan and if they ask for proof hide any meat you may have.

Blood tests. Looking for metabolytes of meat and other stuff.

I don’t know about you but the price of corn is outrageous. . . Wait that’s a different environmental issue.

Keep talking PETA folks. And I hope the news outlets continue to give them coverage. The more the better. This kind of gibberish is only alienating normal people.

Actually they should give us a 10 cent per pound rebate because we are reducing global warming by eating animals who produce methane gas.

Love it when political correct group #1 slams into political correct group #2. It happens so friggin much nowadays.

Yeah, the freak politicians (both Dems and Repubs) here in Wisconsin want to turn our food, and our food’s food (corn) into fuel. Make us pay more for it, give us crappier gas mileage (therefore requiring us to burn more fuel than we otherwise would), pollute the groundwater and mandate that we have to use it (in other words screw the free market).

Another case of politically correct group 1 (ethanol crowd) slamming into politically correct group 2.

.

900 did not “repeat”?

I might have been hard to tell as I did not put a contrasting border around each color so you could see if it repeats

1024x768 is the largest screensaver / webpage setting of 4-5 most use on PCs

Emperor Lyons Phleuger the 10th

Brand on his left shoulder:

FD

FD = Frank Dadara in Palm Beach County at Dun Wandrin Ranch

Lyons is a big farming cattle ranching name in Florida and my brother’s wife is a niece of Lena Lyons

Yes, you’ve called him Emperor before I think.

Lol, the 900 is a solid dark green so no way to tell about repeating. I can’t get ove the 1000 being as wide as the 1024!

Animal activists have also asked federal lawmakers to give tax breaks to those who have sworn off the consumption of animals.

I like that plan.

I won't give up meat, but I will get a tax break.

1024 over 1000

24 pixels = .025 of 96 (100)

24 pixels is a very tiny width or height on a PC screen set at 1024x768 or 100x750

Lol, I know about pixels. 24 isn’t many unless you are painting pixel by pixel and I often do that for shading.

Maybe 950 would be good too?

OK, now the ‘less than’ or V section is the ‘overlap’ part.

Gosh, that area measures almost 1 3/4 inches!

Then, to be fair, how about a $10.00 per ounce "excise tax" on alfalfa sprouts, PETA? Won't go for that? Then scarper off, you're moonbatz!
