“I just saw a banner advertisement by LENDING TREE. Underneath it, in bold print, it said NO SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER NEEDED. These people aren’t ‘accidentally’ encouraging illegal immigration, they are blatantly advertising that they are doing it. Encouraging illegal immigration for financial gain is often RICO prosecutable.”

Worth repeating!

“The first thing that happens is all the illegal aliens immediately have LEGAL status.”

Bingo!

“I heard that, too. Apparently, the Senators thought this bill was a sure thing, so they loaded it with their pet pork projects, figuring it would sail though. Now they’re desperate to pass the bill to make sure they get their pork.”

Worth Repeating!

Lame. If you don't like the political process in this country, go watch American Idol or Dancing with the Stars. Politics is and always has been a rough-and-tumble endeavor, so feelings are bound to be hurt once in a while. The GOP has earned the scorn heaped upon it over the past couple of years because they have lost their way. This immigration bill is just the latest example of the blatant stupidity of those at the top of the party. They had a chance last year to put together a worthwhile bill, and they blew it.

If Jorge is paying you by the word to carry his water for him, you ought to be ready for a comfortable pension.

True, also.

It’s a strange world - this is such a no-brainer one whould have to be a clinchpoop to not understand what is happening. Looks like the clinchpoops are also on the lose in America and lot of them are citizens.

Call it what you wish, amnesty or otherwise. What counts is that the Senate bill legalizes aliens residing in the USA that should not be here to begin with, i.e., have entered the country illegally or overstayed temporary visas. In addition the guest worker provisions of the Senate bill legalizes more illegal aliens, some of whom will overstay their ‘visits’ like the millions of others who have overstayed any of our other guest worker/visa requirements. Below is a list of the current temporary visa programs. I count 20 in all, not including travel for vacations, conferences, seminars and the like, by foreigners for which requirements vary by country of origin. It should be noted that the current Senate bill says nothing new about temporary agricultural workers. Current law covers those folks.

The Senate bill also does not address the issue of “anchor babies,” i. e., which basically assumes that anyone born on US soil, other than those exempted by war or treaty, is considered a citizen. However, the Supreme Court has never explicitly ruled whether or not the Fourteenth Amendment grants children of illegal aliens automatic citizenship.

The current, proposed Senate bill, recently put on hold by the last cloture vote which failed, adds at least three more classes of visas, Z1, Z2 and Z3, which legitimizes the residency of those illegal aliens residing in the US as of January 1, 2007. It also expands the numbers of visas that can be issued in other current classifications.

It would appear that you have never been through the immigration process. I am a legal immigrant and my family will have spent close to $15,000 by the time our son receives his citizenship. You see he turned eighteen prior to us receiving our citizenship and he was literally sent to the back of the line as if he had entered the country the day before.

He is on his second tour in Iraq as a Marine and is still waiting for his country to determine if he is worthy enough to be a citizen. It is clear that Kyl, Bush, McCain, Martinez, etc. don’t think so and would prefer to help those that come here illegally rather than their own vets. Don’t believe the crap about vets being on a fast track it is a lie. His total wait from his entry with us until now will run over 13 years. Our wait was 11 years and we are doing it the legal way. So I don’t have a great deal of sympathy for the illegal method of citizenship that you describe. It doesn’t appear to be a penalty at all.

While your description of the process is intended to sound harsh, to those that have been through the legal process this is tame.

Both the spouse and the applicant of the illegals will be able to work, for those that came through the legal path only the applicant is allowed to work. If the company closes that you are working at you are likely to be told to leave the country.

A criminal record was a disqualifier and any altercation with the law was a disqualifier and the legal immigrant was deported. They are deported because they are easier to find.

Legal immigrants are required to have an HIV test and a positive is likely to be a disqualifier. Not so for the illegals.

Every legal immigrant is tested in English and American civics. This is hardly a burden to bear unless you think you shouldn’t have to learn such things to become an American.

In addition during the application process legal applicants are often ordered back to their country of origin and told to re-enter.

This is amnesty no matter how much you try to spin the terrible burden the illegals will now have to bear.

It is not possible for you, Snow, Bush or any other amnesty supporter to stand in front of legal immigrants and citizens and tell them that this is the only option and it is fair. You would especially not like to stand in front of my son right about now.

He isn't pushing anything he doesn't believe himself. He was pro-illegals, pro-open borders, anti-fence even on his radio program. He hasn't been put in a position he didn't already agree with.

So, is it possible he's a "sleeper" and was specifically hired for this issue?

Excellent read, thanks Kabar! Patriotism is something that Mark Levin talks about constantly. It’s the unifying force that absolutely trumps traditional political thinking and party lines.

Shreading of the Constitution of surrenduring your flag, while at War abroad no less, is simply unforgiveable. Any members of Congress who sacrifices their flag will have their voters to answer to, in this cycle, or the next.
