Not particularly. You were making some pretty sweeping claims and I was not buying into them.
Your step by step put downs were OK?
I tried to elucidate - piece by piece - my problems with your post.
Its OK for you to call Hawaiians racist because they do not want to be ruled from Washington D.C.?
I didn't call Hawaiians racist. I called Hawaiians who use the anti-white slur haole racists, because that is what they are.
And their use of slurs has nothing to do with some ideological objection to Hawaii's membership in the Union (Hawaii is not "ruled by" Washington DC). People who use this kind of language are generally the kind of losers who live off the federally-extracted taxes that Hawaii disproprtionately receives.
IMHO, you took the first step in creating lines in the sand. Dont worry. I will not cross it again.
Feel free to disagree with me as often and as forcefully as you wish.
Have not lived here for a full year yet, so my local knowledge is sorely lacking. But, if I hear it right, just labeling someone a "haole" is not considered a slur. Now if you call someone a "f 'n haole", you indeed have raised it to slur, as in "go back to the mainland, you f 'n haole!".
A fine point perhaps, but that seems to be the local understanding of the issue. But what do I know, I'm just a haole..........
