Text of report in English by Afghan independent Pajhwok news agency website

Pol-e Alam, 12 June: Two schoolgirls were shot dead and three others wounded as unidentified gunmen fired at students on their way home from a school in central Afghanistan on Tuesday [12 June].

The girls were gunned down in Kalangar area at 1230 noon by two motorcyclists, Logar Crimes Branch chief Col Qudratollah Aziz told Pajhwok Afghan News. The attackers made good their escape after perpetrating the grisly crime in broad daylight. He added the slain girls were students of first year and second at the Qala-ye-Sayed Habibollah School near this provincial capital. The students were killed while returning home.

Police rushed the injured to a nearby government-run hospital, but Aziz had no information about their condition. The police officer pinned the blame for the murders on obscurantist militants, asserting responsibility for torching schools and threatening teachers. But Taleban moved swiftly to distance themselves from the incident, with their spokesman saying that they condemned the murder of schoolchildren.

Zabihollah Mojahed, in a telephone call to this news agency from an undisclosed location, said such slayings were mostly linked to family feuds and local customs.

“such slayings were mostly linked to family feuds and local customs” ........................... Seems like we are still dealing with people who are on the lower rung of the evolutionary ladder.

Didn’t AQ recently issue a statement saying it was going to start targeting schools, particularly those that educated girls? I’m sure I read that here in the last couple of weeks.

Here’s a thought, give the girls a krinkov apiece, when some jerkoff shows up to gun them down, the girls can let them know they will not go quietly...

Takes a “big man” to shoot school girls... yes I’m rolling my eyes...
