I’m no fan of China and don’t trust them either but I wish you much luck.

Anyone who believes that China has the ability to project power against US forces is delusional.
While they could, in 20 years or so, initiate a serious strike...it would leave their military and their country a smoldering ruin.
Yes, the US would suffer losses, but they would lose everything. Everything.

If China hits us, who will buy their cheap crap? They’ll be committing economic suicide.

Why hope? You could look it up, instead of just flogging the book.
The US Department of Defense says that China is in hot pursuit of "Assassin's Mace" weapons. And though it is not sure what that means, exactly, the Pentagon report suggests China is preparing asymmetric solutions to blunt a possible future US intervention in the Taiwan Strait.
...oh, and welcome to FR.

China is not the Soviet Union. They can’t hope to be, and wouldn’t want to.
That doesn’t mean their neighbors are very safe, of course.
To: ConspiracyTheorist
The sequel to the book is where they starve to death 'cuz their economy collapses.
Please: China is an economic colony of the United States.

Anyone who believes that China has the ability to project power against US forces is delusional. It would have been said that anyone who believed that 19 mid-easterners on student visas could take down the World Trade Center, several aircraft and part of the Pentagon was delusional.
If the Al Qaeda cell could do that, and it did, then a near superpower could accomplish practically anything in a well-planned sneak attack.

Their own racism keeps them contained. China is for the Chinese, and if you don't look like them then you're a "barbarian" and not worth their respect -
or their trouble. That's essentially their history. (If you don't count Genghis Khan, I suppose....)
By the way, this is the original poster's first day. hmmmmm *sniff*
To: gcruse
You are right. In fact, that was an epilogue I was going to add onto the post but forgot to. Thanks. Outsource the work and invent an alibi for plausible deniability!

...and make it look like Al Qaeda did it. Hmmmm. That's quite another thing. Yes, they could well manipulate other nations to war for their advantage and benefit.

They would need to deliver 1000's of nuclear weapons to neutralize a PORTION of the US deterrent.
We have AT LEAST 2 Trident boats on patrol at all times...and 100's of land-based ballistic missiles that could strike China within minutes of a launch detection.
That doesn't even include our strategic bomber force...and the 100's of tectical nukes we have positioned in the Pacific theatre at all times.
Besides, how would China be able to "sneak" an attack of CONSEQUENCE? First blind our existing satellites? What about those that are up there, but currently "dark"? Could they muster such resource and it not be known to our elint?
No, we'll not see China seek suicide. We'd best focus our resources on detecting a small WMD attack by the Islamofascists...or a big BIO attack to bring the grand imam around to save the world.
Our technology is too good and our stike capability too good to fear anything substantial from China.
