Just another expression of public outrage at amnesty that will be ignored by our rulers.

That would be the 20% that makes up Bush's approval ratings, right?

Goodness, our polticians must be poking their eardrums out in order to remain deaf to the American People.

This is not over yet. Bush refuses to give up this easily. It's his stubborn character. He will try to resurrect it and call it something else. We have to keep our guard up. We need to keep the pressure up.

STAGE TWO is to go after the people who hire illegals. Start giving them fines and arresting them. Just catch ten or 100 of them on the nightly news. The magnet will dry up and most of the 12 million will go home by themselves.

As an addendum, we should anonymously call the IRS, people working "off the books" means taxes ain't being paid. Make anonymous fliers and hang them around the neighborhood, name names. It's time to embarrass these bustards, whether they give to the GOP or Rats, we don't need them.

CALL! CALL! CALL! CALL! AND KEEP CALLING TILL THE LINES FRY!

WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!

Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti illegal immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them. This is a bipartisan issue not a Conservative or Liberal issue BUT AN AMERICAN issue.

STOP AMNESTY NOW!! WE CAN DO IT!!

The best way to stop Shamnesty

Overall, just 21% are opposed to the enforcement-only approach

Note how they position this in a negative sense. It's not, "79% want Enforcement Only", or "More than 2/3's want Enforcement Only!" but rather the opposite of that.

And if it's true that about 80% of the electorate are fine with the current immigration laws, and just want them enforced, then where is the political impetus for so-called "immigration reform" in the first place?

I’m going to fax this to my Senators. Just think if they received hundreds of these.

They might actually listen if they realize how it’s going to hurt their re-election. We aren’t going to forget how they vote.

Just 20% of American voters want Congress to try and pass the immigration reform bill that failed in the Senate last week.

They got the go ahead to build however after the pats on the back, they didn't build.

Now they want amnesty?

Yea, sure, trust your politicians to want for the best for America....

I'm surprised they have eked out a 20% approval.

“Sixty-nine percent (69%) of voters would favor an approach that focuses exclusively on “exclusively on securing the border and reducing illegal immigration.” Support for the enforcement only approach comes from 84% of Republicans, 55% of Democrats, and 69% of those not affiliated with either major party.”

PING for immigration polling

Off topic but not really...Well, well, interesting theory being circulated to explain the rush to pass amnesty from different blogs on the net today. Federal laws trump local and state. Local and state have have been making laws against illegals and enforcing them. Now those in D.C. are desperate to stop the enforcment from taking place, hence the vampire Bill. I tend to believe there is some truth to this. it would explain their insistence in going against 70-80 percent of the country over this. the People were taking matters into their own hands, by passing our corrupt government, and starting to make a small dent, and that just cannot be allowed to happen.

Just received this via email. Can’t confirm it but I don’t doubt it.

“was just informed that the back-room plan is currently underway
to bring Bush-Kennedy back and get it quickly passed through the
Senate. I call it “amendments for amnesty.”

Here’s what’s happening.

President Bush and the Amnesty Republicans are attempting to
convince about a dozen Republicans to support “cloture” on
Bush-Kennedy in exchange for a commitment that a set list
of amendments will be considered — thus, “amendments for amnesty.”

Also, Bush and the amnesty leaders are strong-arming conservatives
into accepting the “amendments for amnesty” deal or face being
banished into Senate oblivion.

Amnesty Republicans have already submitted their list of amendments
to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid. Once the “amendments for
amnesty” deal is finalized between Reid and the Republicans,
the bill will be quickly brought back to the floor. The amendments
will be defeated and amnesty passed.

+ + We can stop “Amendments For Amnesty”!

This is the FOURTH TIME our leaders have gone
behind closed doors to work out some secret scheme to get this
bill passed. Despite unprecedented and overwhelming grassroots
opposition, they think they can still pull off their legislative,
slight-of-hand trickery!”

Reid

This week, we will vote on cloture and final passage of a comprehensive bill that will strengthen border security, bring the 12 million undocumented Americans out of the shadows, and keep our economy strong. In the days ahead, we will work to improve the bill to protect and strengthen family ties while improving the structure of the temporary-worker program.
