Radical Activists Plunge America Deeper Into Debate Over Marriage

WASHINGTON, DC - The Alliance for Marriage, who drafted the Marriage Protection Amendment (MPA) before Congress, warned today’s vote by the Massachusetts legislature to deny the people of Massachusetts a right to vote on the future of marriage will only plunge our nation deeper into a debate over marriage and the family under our laws.

“Today’s vote by the legislature to stop the marriage amendment from reaching the people of Massachusetts is only the beginning,” said Matt Daniels, president and founder of the Alliance for Marriage. “Radical activists will now move to strike the 1913 law in Massachusetts requiring state residency for a marriage license, in a determined effort to export the destruction of marriage across state lines.”

“As designed, activists from all 50 states will travel to Massachusetts, obtain a marriage license and then sue in federal court to strike down any laws (or state amendments) protecting marriage in other states,” added Daniels. “It is intended to make sure Massachusetts “gay marriages” become the new social norm for America. This is nothing short of a plan to create a national blitz of lawsuits challenging state marriage laws, state marriage amendments, and the 1996 federal Defense of Marriage Act.”

“America will continue on a collision course with the courts over the future of marriage,” added Daniels. “AFM’s Marriage Protection Amendment is clearly the only hope for the American people to determine the future of marriage under our laws.” The Alliance for Marriage, who drafted the federal Marriage Protection Amendment (MPA) and is the leading national group spearheading the MPA before Congress, called on Congressional Leadership to act on the Amendment.

“Most Americans believe that gays and lesbians have a right to live as they choose. But they don’t believe they have a right to redefine marriage for our entire society,” said Daniels.

The gaystapo and their enablers at work. This is gay fascism pure and simple. Weep for the people of Massachusetts. They have lost their freedoms to a cabal of wicked corrupt politicians enthralled to a hateful, vengeful group of savvy monsters.

The difference this time was that it was not a simple referendum, but a referendum to amend the state constitution. A simple referendum, even in MA, still follows a petition process.

Weep for the people of Massachusetts

If you do, you're a sap.

The people of Massachusetts brought this upon themselves and foisted this upon the nation by deliberately and repeatedly voting for the likes of Kennedy, Kerry, Frank, Studds, along with all the local legislators that ramrodded this travesty through to bodily orifice that is the MA statehouse.

I've lived here for more than a decade as a registered Republican and if any of my clients had known that fact, I wouldn't have had any clients to begin with.

To paraphrase a commercial, I've begun telling people I'm a Republican. The looks on their faces is "PRICELESS".

Thankfully, I'm outta here at the end of the month and all I can say is good riddance (and good luck to my MA FRiends).

This viral concept of accepting sexual deviants as "normal" needs to be stopped before it spreads beyond the MA borders.

I agree, I live in MA as well and people brought this upon themselves. I love to tell people that I am a registered Republican just to liven up the conversation.

This state is beyond help, you are doing the right thing by packing up and leaving. I will be moving to Texas next year so I have to survive about 15 more months.

What free state will you be moving to ?

I wrote to my rep asking that she vote to allow us to vote on the issue. She wrote back that she had received a lot of mail on either side of the issue and that she was considering it carefully.

Today the P.O.S. voted nay.

Polls show the people in Massachusetts don't want gay marriage. They never had a voice or vote. Every institution and media outlet reinforces the radical left homo agenda. And yet the people don't agree.

Of course, you are right they brought it on themselves. I also partly blame the churches for straying from the Gospel and failing to be a bulwark against tyranny. Instead, many of the church leaders are themselves the handmaiden of tyranny. What would Paul Revere say today about his beloved colony?

I am sorry to say. We stand on a premise that our country stands as it did during Paul Reveres time.

One nation under God. My friends this is not the same America. A lot of people feel we need to drop God and become a unified nation. Hence, Immigration policies.....

We are fighting a battle to keep America. But it now has a lot of different meanings. We are in the midst on succession of the United States and its constitution.

WELCOME TO THE NEW AMERICA. ONE NATION UNDER...YOU FILL IN THE BLANK

What would Paul Revere say today about his beloved colony?

I pains me to think of that.

I walk by either his house, the Old North Church, or the statue of him on horseback in the Prada almost every day.

The history of this place has probably kept me here much longer than warranted, but it's time to recognize what it's become and move on.

Give them what they need as a couple under civil unions.

I agree.
They can even create their own institution, call it pairriage if they like
but leave our institution alone.

This was posted on FR back in '05 and the link to the Dallas Morning News is still active.....

Marriage belongs to the straight world and gays should not change it (by a gay person)

If you want to call something a ‘hate crime’, be my guest. As far as I am concerned *ANY* law has only as much legitimacy as I choose to grant it. I don’t care if I personally see it written on stone by lightning, it’s up to me to decide if it makes sense to obey or not. Of course most of the time with the minions of the State being better armed, I just go along but as far as internal obedience, well, Alister Crowley nailed it.

IT IS NOW OPEN SEASON ON MASSACHUSETTS SCHOOLCHILDREN.

PARENTS WILL HAVE NO LEGAL RECOURSE AGAINST HOMOSEXUAL INDOCTRINATION. "HEATHER HAS TWO MOMMIES" WILL BE IN EVERY SCHOOL IN THE STATE, AS WILL SODOMY ED.

Personally, I think it's time to remove this from the province of the state

State regulation of marriage is really about the rights of children. It is within the State's natural duties to decide custody matters.

Marriage is both a supernatural and natural institution. A natural marriage is simply a lifetime commitment between a man and a woman for the dual purposes of mutual care and the begetting and raising of children. Such marriages are within the competence of the State to define.

A supernatural marriage includes the purposes of a natural marriage, and more. The dual purposes of a supernatural marriage are the begetting and raising of children for Heaven, and the mutual aid of the spouses in preparing each other for Heaven.

Massachusetts already allows the adoption of children by homosexuals, which is a grievous violation of the natural law, and a gross abnegation of duty by the State. Legalized homosexual "marriage" further cements this injustice in law.

But there will be other forseeable and unforseeable damage to society. There is no question in my mind that homosexuals and their sympathizers will now push for the normalization of homosexuality in all government schools. This means sodomy education in every government school. No exceptions will be tolerated. Citizens will have no legal recourse against it.

Another example of how the left controls the conversation by defining the terms. It’s not a “gay marriage ban” - it’s a “traditional marriage preservation” amendment. You can’t ban what’s never existed anywhere at any time. You can preserve something that’s been around for thousands of years in all human societies.

Good catch. The Left is expert at using euphemisms and controlling debate through terminology.

The MA Legislature just violated the 1st Amendment by usurping the religious institution of marriage from the church.

It's not difficult to see that churches will now be violating homosexuals' "civil rights." Who knows where this will end?
