I was following the Politico story concerning the accusation that Harry Reid called General Pace (and maybe Gen Patreaus) incompetent yesterday while being interviewed on the web by a blog. This was mentioned by Tony Snow today and also by Rush. As I am arguing with a lefty concerning this subject, I've been trying to find the source and I have been able to find it anywhere. There is no source cited by Politico and I even looked on Reid's blog site (had to register so now I am probably on a watch list). Does anyone have this source????

Well, he should know incompetence when he sees it. It stares back at him in the mirror each day.
I called his office this morning at told them what I thought about Reid’s comment,I told them reids was despicable.

Again there is no citation for the comment. I don’t think it is posted anywhere so arguing with my lefty opponent cannot be supported with a link (I think if it existed Tony Snow would have cited it this morning).
I do love H. Hewitt’s listing of all Pace’s medals and accomplishments. Why the hell is Bush replacing this guy!?!?!?!
More pointedly- How can Bush support the Dubai deal, select Harriet Meyers, stand behind Gonzalez and then kick Gen Pace to the curb? If there is a plan, I sure can’t see it.

Moonbats on DU are all denying it happened, according to some supposedly in on the call. Of course, we know how much credibility they have.
Just realized something. If this comment was made during a telephone conference call to folks who were supposedly bloggers and I am right that the comments are posted nowhere on the web, then we must have had a mole within the lefty blog community. Cool proposition, but the cover is blown now.

You’ll probably not find a specific citation for the comment as it was reported by a person in attendance at an interview Reid gave for a group of liberal bloggers (who have now all clammed up). Your liberal friend can deny it all he wants, but this was reported not by a conservative mole but by a presumably liberal correspondent for a left-wing blog. On the other hand, never argue with a liberal; they don’t respond well to facts.
I know it’s terrible to think, but you could almost hope Islamic terrorists strike Las Vegas or San Francisco.
Okay, but could they hold off in San Francisco until after I’m home in Fairfield after work?
I am hoping our local hero for monitoring lefty blogs can come up with something.
