Maybe they should raise their wages to the market rate. Price equilibrium is where supply = demand.

Meantime, temporary employees arrived Wednesday at a local food processing plant after an immigration raid Tuesday netted 167 illegal workers...

New workers showing up at the plant Wednesday said they were from a temp agency and did not know how long their term of employment would last at the plant.

Gee, seems they didn't have too much of a problem replacing them. Odds are pretty good the new employees are legal too.

You’re offering a strawman argument.

The wages offered for the work are below the market rate for legal workers. Any legal worker who actually takes one of these jobs will be laid off when the next crop of illegal workers shows up in the next week or two.
