Outrage! Mel Martinez Condemns U.S In Latin America (Debbie Schlussel Open Borders RINO Alert)
http://www.debbieschlussel.com/archives/2007/06/outrage_gop_cha.html ^ | 06/15/2007 | Debbie Schlussel

Now, he's really gone too far.

Republican Party Chairman and Florida U.S. Senator Mel Martinez needs to get out of politics before he single-handedly (well, actually with the help of President George W. Bush and other Senators like Jon Kyl) destroys the Republican Party forever.

Today's Wall Street Journal Washington Wire reports that--despite the GOP's jilted lover stalking of the Hispanic vote (including such tactics as the Illegal Alien Amnesty Bill)--more Hispanics than ever identify themselves as Democrats rather than Republicans. A new Wall Street Journal/NBC poll finds that they identify 51% to 21% as Democrats to Republicans.

But, instead of facing the music that open borders advocacy doesn't help the GOP even from a pragmatic, vote-whoring point of view, Martinez instead BLAMES America for "past foreign interventions in Latin American countries" for the downward decline in Hispanic GOP identification. And, Martinez maintains, "a skillful 2008 Republican candidate can recover.

Sandinista, er . . . GOP Chairman, Senator Mel Martinez

HUH?????!!!!! Ronald Reagan is turning over in his grave . . . again.

The last American "foreign intervention in Latin America" was when we supported the Nicaraguan Freedom Fighters--the Contras--against the Communist tyranny of the Sandinistas, headed by Gucci-glasses, pre-Lasik Daniel Ortega. We need to "recover" from that?!

If only we had listened to Oliver North in Nicaragua's elections, last year, and had another "foreign intervention in Latin America." But we did not, and Daniel Ortega (now Lasik-ed) has returned to power.

And, guess what? Our lack of "foreign intervention in Latin America," this time around, didn't help the GOP, Senor Martinez.

But it did lead to this . . .

Mr. Martinez, time for you to say Adios . . . before the rest of America says Adios to you and your party.

Oh, and by the way, that same Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll showed that fewer than 30% of members of both parties--the GOP and the Democrats--call the Senate immigration amnesty bill "acceptable."

Like I said, take the hint, Mr. Martinez. Say bye-bye. Please.

Mel Martinez, his boss and a large Senate coterie is doing their best to destroy the Republican Party. Let's say adios to him and his RINO ilk.

I remember a guy on the radio in Orlando about 10 yrs ago, when Martinez was a local politician, saying we should get rid of this guy. I guess they did, he got bumped up and out.

This liability from the State of Florida just got elected, so he has a destructive run all the way to 2010. Here in Florida we have a cartoon character for a governor and a clown for a Senator.

And they're both Republicans.

Here’s a list of key Senate contacts for EVERYONE to email regarding immigration. Many offices are putting calls straight to voicemail and they can just trash faxes (and letters take weeks to get through due to security). Let’s hit Hill staff where they are so codependent - their Blackberries. Send email directly to staff - not just the
generic Senator’s mailbox. Contact their Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Press Secretary. Make your voice heard!!

Make sure you cut and paste the email addresses, instead of just clicking on them, as the HTML is only picking up half the email address (for some reason it cuts off the first name of the recipients).

If only we had listened to Oliver North in Nicaragua's elections, last year, and had another "foreign intervention in Latin America." But we did not, and Daniel Ortega (now Lasik-ed) has returned to power.

Debbie's hyperventilating again.

We should invade Nicaragua because we don't like the results of the last election? Without the USSR as a sponsor, Nicaragua just isn't very important.

BTW, we did intervene in Latin America a great many times, mostly in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, although starting as early as the Mexican War.

The story of these interventions is not nearly as simple as the "evil gringo" version taught in Latin American and US schools, but they did indeed happen.

The party’s already dead. It’s been infiltrated at every level. We have a two-party one-party system in America — the only distinction between them being the degree of Marxism they’re willing to publicly embrace and advocate.

It’s time to accept it and figure out what to do next. Every moment wasted on trying to revive this dead political institution would be better much better spent trying to save this dying country.

Martinez is just a patron like Bush, just with a hispanic name. Cubans like their slaves too.

Bush choice for commerce secretary...Gutierrez...what’s his experience?

Managing Coca-cola plants in Mexico, with Mexican workers. Good experience in Bush’s book for the “new” economy. But the white liberal MSM acts if this guy is a good representative for a “minority.” He’s not, he’s is the overclass. Just like Bush, Hillary, Obama, all just different cogs in the wheel looking to depress wages for campaign contribution kickbacks.

More outrage: This was in El Tiempo Latino, a newpaper in Spanish published by the Wash Post. It is an interview of Sect. Commerce Carlos Gutirrez by Jorge Ramos, who is like the Tom Brokaw of Univision News:

Ramos: “¿Usted cree que extender el muro sirve de algo?” Do you think the fence (wall) serves a purpose?

Gutirrez: “Los expertos dicen que sí funciona simbólicamente (porque) hay gente que quiere ver que se está haciendo todo lo posible en la frontera”, me dijo. “Yo lo que les puedo decir es que una barda no es una solución”. The experts say that it functions symbolically because there are people who want to see that everything possible is being done on the border. What I tell them is that the fence is not a solution.

So, he's saying we have to build a fence so it will look like we're doing something, but it really doesn't serve any good purpose. This is at the same time Bush is touting the famous $4.4 billion they SAY they are going to put toward border security. The administration is telling the Spanish speakers one thing -- we're just doing this to make our critics shut up, but it won't really work, while telling people who speak in English something else entirely.http://www.eltiempolatino.com/opinion/carlos.html

And, Martinez maintains, "a skillful 2008 Republican candidate can recover.

Just what we need. A Senator and party leader who believes that wishful thinking is an acceptable substitute for evidence.

There is ZERO evidence that the majority of Hispanics will become reliable Republican voters--and plenty of evidence that they will not.

Who cares if he destroys the frickin' Republican Party. It's my country that I'm concerned about.
