Amen to that. The Bible was never meant to be a basis by which to run a tyrannnical nanny state using Biblical law.

An excellent point. I’m reminded that my bible says that I should care for the poor - out of my own pocket. No bible says I can satisfy my obligations by sticking my hand in my neighbor’s pocket to do it.
