This is where the problem is. I’m aware of a fine man who applied FOUR YEARS AGO. His application is still being processed.
What country is he applying from and what kind of visa? I am starting the process with someone I know.
THEY CAN’T EVEN KEEP UP WITH PASSPORT APPLICATIONS.
WHAT A JOKE!
I have two stepsons from Russia. Both applied for residency (I-151), paid their $485 fees (each) with the ICE Dallas Office of Rapid Adjustment (DORA). One was 17 the other 18 when they applied. This office promised a 90-day turn-around. It has now been two YEARS and still no word. The only answer I get from ICE is that their files have been pulled and “background” checks are pending with the FBI and that Immigration has no authority over the FBI. Even my useless congresscritter (Rep. Dr. Michel Burgess) got the same response when I sent a letter requesting his help. His office, too, responds that he has no authority over the FBI and can do nothing.
I attend a Slovak parish. The people back home earn about 5000.00 a year. They pay 200.00 for visas to get here. Whether they get one or not, they lose the 200.00.
Our dance teacher is about to lose his visa. He could easily fly into Windsor’s airport and swim across the river by Lake Erie Metropark (about 1000 feet). But he is doing it right and not cheating the system. We expect he will be gone by next month.
My step-daughter was born in the Philippines. My wife was dual citizen and declared Amercian before age 21. She brought her 1 year old daughter her. The girl was raised american and you wouldn't know she wasn't, by talking to her.
At age 19 she applied for US citizenship. After two years she heard nothing. My wife was a parole agent and worked regularly with an INS officer who was screening parolees. The INS officer made a call. My step-daughter had an appointment the next week. In two months she was at Staple Center in LA taking the oath.
