Prayers for their families, and the entire community. These brave souls gave their lives helping others.

Please remember them.

How horrible. Prayers for them and their families.

These warehouse and store fires are very dangerous. I remember that there was one in the Northeast (New Jersey?) some years ago where a large number of firemen were killed. And, IIRC, New York City stopped having firefighters go into these fires after several firemen were killed by the collapse of a roof in a nighttime fire at a supermarket or some other kind of big store building. If it’s a vacant building, their policy now is to contain it until it becomes manageable.

We lost 4 years ago.My sister stopped by my house and told me they said on the radio 4 men were missing and my husband’s company was 2nd in so I started calling hospital’s.They would not tell me anything but one did say they had one but he was not an officer. My sister drove me to the fire scene and my husband’s company was there but I didn't see him.I went to the back and found one of the men sitting on a curb crying and I sat down next to him and asked were Ed was.He said he’s OK he is on the roof but we lost Richie. The fire was in the basement and on top of that was a restaurant. The patrons were eating and noticed smoke coming out of the electrical plugs,Richie was detailed that day and was first in and when they walked into the restaurant the floor collapsed.Men were holding back men who wanted to dive into the basement. At the funeral his wife Anna called me in a room and told me she found out the day of the fire she was pregnant. She was happy that she was.We will never forget.

I hear that now there is confirmation of several deaths, all firefighters. My brother was a firefighter and is now fire marshal of a New England city. I pray that God will comfort the family and friends of these brave men, and give them peace and strength, in Jesus' name.

Sharing your sorrow, fatima, for the loss of the brave and valiant. All of eternity surely is needed to thank our first responders for each and every task that they have done, and will continue to do, such is their unselfish heart. May the Lord be especially near this day.

I was heartsick to hear this on FNC first thing this AM.

My prayers for these brave firemen/women ... my prayers for their families, friends, co-workers and the town.

Such an astounding event!

So sorry ... every day for the past week, my DSL modem has been shutting down ... the first and second time I “punched” post, I got a page not found message. Again sorry!

Geez I never saw this thread.
There is another thread about the fire.
9 firefighters have gone to their eternal rest.
Pray for them and all firefighters and their families.
