Even if the Government's power were illegitimate, it can never admit that its power IS illegitimate.

There you have it! It's okay for the government to break the law and possibly kill innocent people in the process to provide the fiction of legality. If the government admits its income tax power is illegitimate and dissolves it, that would be a good thing.

The American People who voted for the representatives who passed those various laws regarding income tax presumably would not agree. They regard this government as legitimate. They regard its tax power as legitimate.

If you wish to convince them to change their tax laws you have the right to attempt to do so. Until you actually convince them to change the laws I suggest strongly that you abide by the tax laws that the American People, through their elected representatives, have passed.

Attempting to invoke some foolish pseudo-legal mumbo-jumbo that the income tax does not exist, and can therefore be ignored, is an affront to the sovereign right of the American People to make the laws under which they live. Those who attempt to live their lives without complying with the tax law accept a high probability that their future lifestyle will be grossly impaired. And when their own actions bring them to misfortune, they will whine and complain about how unfair it all is. Just like the Browns are doing right now. They had their day in court. And they were convicted by a jury of their peers. They are the lawbreakers here, no one else.

If something is enforced contrary to the Constitution (as the so-called income tax is), then it is not a law no matter how loud some lynch mob screams.

Since you guys gave smears regarding frivolous tax arguments, I feel it is only fair that I give the other side of the story: Freedom fighter an patriot, Irwin Schiff, is offering his anti income tax stuff for download and perusal.

What lynch mob? Or is that what you call a jury of your peers? If it is, you discredit your own claim that the income tax law is enforced contrary to the Constitution by making such disparaging statements about Constitutional safeguards. It indicates disdain for the Constitution.

If you feel the law should be changed, make your case to the American people. Get the law changed. Abide by the present law until the law change goes into effect.

Otherwise, no one can stop you from having a rich fantasy life. And if you try to live your life as if your rich fantasy life is reality, your lifestyle will probably suffer grievous harm. Which will be self-inflicted and much deserved. The Browns are the poster children of 2007 for this dose of reality. And their dose of reality has just started.

There is no law to be changed. They refused to show those two people holed up in New Hampshire the law; ergo, what is enforced against those poor people and Irwin Schiff; etc., is the color of law. Illegal actions with the appearance of legality.

The reason Whitey Harrel was aqcuitted see free republic article was because the government refused to show that statutes where Harrell was required to file and pay income taxes. (excerpt from the link) Interestingly, even after the specifc request of the jury, neither the state or the court ever did produce any statute showing Harrel had any obligation. "We don't have anything to say at this time other than Mr. Harrell was very lucky and we will be watching his activities carefully," stated an assistant State's Attorney who asked not to be identified
