I'm wondering when all the other candidates' religious affiliations will be reviewed in depth as well!

D’oh, the video is on the upper right side, not the left. Sorry.

Any Republican is subject to scrutiny in regard to religion.
Any democrat will never be asked, no matter how many varied services they attend.

House Leader Harry Reid (D)’s mormonism has never been an “issue”. Wonder how many of the bigots on the Left that hold Romney’s mormonism up as “the reason” to oppose him are even aware of Reid’s religion?

It’s not going away because the media won’t let it. They get to sneer at Mormons and Evangelicals in the same story. Why would they let it die?

Moreover, if Obama gets elected, look for him to recruit people like his Reverend at the Unity church he attends, a preacher who spouts strong African Americanism from the pulpit but Obama denies it (that the does) in public.

In that regard, he’s more dangerous than Hillary — look for more “diversity” legislation from him...

Gotta love the Mormon church response, which was something to the effect that Brother Romney is playing political games with his answers.

The MSM loves turning politics into a meaningless game show.

This is one more attempt to distract Americans from the issues.

As long as they are not muslim, I really don’t care what a candidates religion is.

Do they really think showing loving families spending time with each other is a going to cast a bad light on Mormons?

Basically, I agree.

I’d rather not have any Scientologists, either (as if that were a real religion). And I could probably come up with other examples of “religions” (or cults) I wouldn’t want to see in a President.

Others are OK. To be specific, I wouldn’t vote against Romney simply because he’s a Mormon.

Legitimate question:

Did he impose his religious beliefs on the state of Mass. when he was governor?

If he did, how?

If not, why would he act any differently when Pres? Kennedy didn’t!

I’ve been studying up on mormonism since I encountered these two mormon missionaries up in NH last year, but the whole “Mitt Romney” thing has repeaked my interest; needless to say (I want all Mormon Freepers to hear me): I don’t disrespect you, not do I have anything against you: but the more I study your religion the more I come to the conclusion that it s false (once again not attacking you personally);

“faith without works is dead”..yet God’s grace is the only thing that gives us salvation through Jesus sacrifice for your sins..He didn’t say you have to earn your salvation, nor did He ever imply that men become “gods”. He is three in one, and the author and finisher of our faith..I don’t need to do anything to earn his grace or forgiveness..It has ALL been done by Christ on the Cross! Finished..Forever..God has saved me..not me (and Christ)..I can NEVER earn salvation or be good enough! Feel Free to Freepmail me if you want to discuss further, I will be happy to oblidge. My only care is for your salvation.

Even Satan believes. The only thing that may differentiate you from Satan is your works.

I don’t give a big fat rat what “religion” someone belongs or doesn’t belong to for that matter. I care more that our leaders understand our Constitution and the Bill of Rights and adhere to their strict interpretation and that they understand what sovereignty means.

You don't have a clue about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and the depth and soundness of its beliefs. You really don't.

For the best statement of the core belief of the Church see Matthew 16:16 when Peter responds to questioning by the Master with these words: "Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God." That word "living" implies all that you are prone to attach about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Christ does live, his Father lives. Christ prayed to his Father in John 17, not to himself. And in that prayer Christ prayed that we believers would be one, just as He is one with his Father. If He is one with the Father, the same as He wants us to be one with him, your pagan Nicean belief of 3 in one cannot be true.

And yes, Christ worked out the perfect atonement in Gethsemane and on the cross. No question. Moreover, there is no question that all must repent and come unto Christ and that we are made pure by the working of his atonement in our lives.

Moreover, there is no doubt He wants all of us to enjoy the fruits of His atonement. That's why he restored the full truth of his gospel in these latter days, and why He continues to guide his affairs on earth through living prophets. Because He loves you and all humankind. Cheers.

In the political real THAT IS TURE, and that is why I didn’t attack Mitt Romney for his religion. I could care less if someone were an ATHIEST when serving in public office as long as they support the same things I do!

I am not against his mormon faith (in it doesn’t disqualify him, IMO, from serving in office), but I still stand that Mormonism is a lie,,

I will respond to the other two LukeSW and Nephi tomorrow in private emails; I am too tired tonight!

-Good Night :)!

I have no problem with a Mormon candidate but it is a psuedo-Christian religion. Too divergent. No other mainline Christian group goes as far as to add a new text and to believe things like the Garden of Eden was in Missouri.
