SANTIAGO (Reuters) - A lake in southern Chile has mysteriously disappeared, prompting speculation the ground has simply opened up and swallowed it whole.

The full report say’s there’s a fissure where the lake used to be. The picture shows the start of one, but it looks like the ice is covering the major portion of it.
