The latest election strategy of the Republicans and the White House is aimed at re-energizing its party's base which has been eroded by deepening divisions over the war, immigration and runaway spending.

So...the very people responsible for the deep divisions are the ones now talking about wanting to re-energize the base? I suggest that they have already energized the base. Just not in the way or the direction they had intended to.

“Oh please. PLEEEEASE. Anything to have to watch Pelosi hand that gavel back. Oh pleeeeeeeeeeeease. I will give up red meat just to see that.”

Will you forget and vote for them even if they pass the Amenesty Bill?

>No sir. This is the House, not the Senate. The House is where the power is at. I think they will learn their spending lesson and be a powerful force for good.<

If they listen to Rep. Duncan Hunter, Republicans won’t lose. And with Duncan Hunter in the White House, we all win!

Why? The GOP voted mostly against it. The Democrats voted for it.

Because the biggest cheerleaders for it are the Republican president and prominent Republican House and Senate leaders.

I know you told me 3 times, but I still don’t buy it. The GOP had the House, the Senate, and the White House and did almost nothing. Now many of the Republicans are toeing the Democrat line.

A pox on both of their houses.

Hopefully we have a presidential candidate with coattails as well.

Not for a minute did I think ‘06 was a generational shift. Just a message to the bums in office.

President Bush lead the charge. Prominent Repubs are forcing it through. It’s a Republican bill;a bipartisan grand compromise if you will. There is enough votes to stop cloture if they wanted to. When the Republican Senate leaders behave this way, the GOP is to blame period. The GOP thinks we are stupid-that we will forget and vote for them as the lesser of two evils-not going to do it. The GOP is in for a heck of a surprise in 2008 if the amnesty bill goes through.

I said that in 2006...hold my nose and vote. Guess what-this is what the Repubs are counting on. We have no other place to go...no more.

No, the Dems win-this is President Bush’s bill. Harry Reid said so remember? The stupid Republicans have played right into the Democrats hands. As for amnesty. There is no legal amnesty anywhere right now-not in Florida and not anywhere.

The GOP had the House, the Senate, and the White House and did almost nothing.

Nothing gets done in the Senate without 60 votes for cloture.

Let’s also hope that all of the new Republicans in the next Congress are truly conservative Republicans and not “RINO” Republicans!

“Nothing gets done in the Senate without 60 votes for cloture.”

If you’re committed, and doing the right thing, you can bring pressure to bear on those in the way. If the GOP had a spine, and was actually cutting government size, (as promised), and securing borders, (as promised), they could have forced defections.

IF

sorry

No need. The onus of communicating "funny" is on the person trying to be funny :) "It was a good try," really doesn't cut it in the humor dept. It's either funny or it isn't.

Keep dreaming with all the RINOs in the GOP. In many parts of the country, all you can elect are RINOs. We had a majority leader, Tom DeLay, who said in effect that there was no fat to cut in the budget not long ago.
