IDF evacuates Gazans to Egypt under deal struck with Cairo
By Yuval Yoaz, Haaretz Correspondent and The Associated Press

Israel on Wednesday evacuated to Egypt dozens of Palestinian Gaza residents fleeing Hamas, who had spent days at a Gaza border terminal, witnesses and military officials said.

The evacuation was only partially successful as out of the 60 Gazans bussed to Egypt in vehicles provided by the Israel Defense Forces, only 31 ultimately entered Egypt, while 29 demanded to return to Gaza.

An IDF spokeswoman said the passengers crossed into Egypt under a deal struck with Cairo.

They were evacuated from Gaza because they supposedly feared for their lives under Hamas rule. Suddenly when their refuge turned out to be Egypt rather than Israel half of them wanted to go back to Gaza. Hmmm... I guess Egypt isn't a target rich environment when you want to kill Jews.

50% have a therapeutic bus ride and their life threatening circumstances suddenly resolve. What a load of bravo sierra (as usual) from the Palis.

Where are the Christians going? Hamas has said Christian women have to cover up and observe Islamic law. Or else. Churches being trashed and torched, too.

I imagine the West Bank. Fatah is secularist and has its share of Palestinian Christians (i.e.: Hanan Ashrawi).

31 down, 1,399,969 to go. Keep sending them to Egypt (or Jordan, or Syria, or Lebanon, or Wrangel Island for all I care) - just get them out, so the Israelis can move back in. Gigadittoes for Judea and Samaria.
