Breaking News From Lebanon:
I do not have the details yet or a detailed link but the Lebanese media is now reporting that the Lebanese army military operations against "Fath Al Islam" terrorist group in "Nahr Al Bared" Palestinian camps are now over with the total control of the camp by the Lebanese army according to a statement made moments ago by the Lebanese Defense minister Elias Al Murr on Lebanese TV.
Is this a case where the ol’ Top Sarge told his troops “smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.”
Good. Fox misspelled ‘Fath’, saying the Lebanese army had defeated ‘Fatah’ and that fighting had stopped. (I was somewhat confused.)
Praying for the best!
Oh, HELL YEAH, I hope this is true!
Fath Al Islam Terrorist Group
Are these folks Hamas or Fatah or a wholly different group?
It’s true. My sourcing had the same, as of last night (US CDT time)

Excellent news.
Hoping for confirmation.
Thanks, jv. Excellent news!
Either they totally defeated the group or they drove the group into the hills.
They are an Al-Qaeda associated group.

Isn’t Hamas and Fatah also al-Qaeda associated?
Fatah is correct spelling, as is Fath. The terrorists name is “Fatah al Islam”.

Lebanon’s Defense Minister Elias al-Murr said on Thursday the army’s military operation against the al- Qaeda-inspired Fatah al-Islam militants was over, after the military destroyed all the militants’ positions.
“I can tell the Lebanese that as of now the military operation in (the northern Lebanon Palestinian refugee camp) Nahr al-Bared is finished,” Murr told Lebanon’s LBC television in a live interview. (Reuters)

I doubt very much that the terrorists were able to escape from the camp. May very few did but the majoirty were killed or captured.
