Sad. John Edwards couldn’t win re-election as Senator in his home state, but he’s going to sweep the South? I’m not a southerner, but I know that being a southerner is more than geography. You’re not a Southerner, if you’re a defeat-mongering, nutroots-@ss-kissing, Silky Pony.

There’s just one problem with her little scenario - Silky Pony hasn’t a snowball’s chance ins H**L of getting the nomination!

Thank you. To this day and forever I can only say that it was God above that restored her. I was pretty much along the ride. : )

FYI, in case no one knows, the way it works - the candidate can pay themselves the rate of salary for the office they’re going after from campaign funds. So Edwards is pocketing a cool $800,000 off this run (two years of presidential salary) - yup, this is why the Mickey Mouse club comes out every election time.

Very interesting . Does this mean that Sharpton, Hillary Clinton Mike Gravel, Bill Richardson, Dennis Kucinich, John Edwards, Joseph Biden, Wesley Clark, et. al. have paid/will pay thmselves $800,000 to run for President? Is it declared as a salary? How can this be legal?

It’s part of the election law: a candidate for federal office can pay himself, out of campaign donations, a salary equal to the office he is running for. $400k a year for president, two employment cycles, equals $800k. And yup, that’s why most of the dwarfs run. They get to pocket almost a million bucks, tax free.

Makes you want to declare to run for president, doesn’t it? To pick up the second year of salary, though, candidates must file no later than January 10th of an election year.
