How dare she defend herself from others that wish her destruction!

Those destroyers could be anywhere in the world; only thing that would be sweeter would be able to intercept from a sub. Not that I think this is beyond the abilities at the moment, but having a sub launch the intercept would send chills down anyone’s back - you could block any medium range missile anywhere in the world, and no one would know where your platforms were.

I remember reading in the past that destroyers with the Aegis Combat System could be used for anti missile operations to guard the U.S. I guess it has become a reality.
