What I want isn't the issue. I don't expect ostensibly international news organizations to burn up hours of coverage for what amounts to a local story which affects a very few people. What used to be a reliable alternative source of important news (this case isn't important in the grand scheme of things), FNC, has sort of morphed into a real-time version of COPS. I think they do it because it plays to people's morbid curiosity and they can get losts of live video.

He will write a book, tour the talk show circuit, there will even be a movie of his struggles. He will make millions, run for office and be elected. He will retire with multiple generous pensions. so here we go again.....the web knows what happened and the cable / tv / newspapers are an hour behind............and we should stop looking at the internet,liberal elite tell us

That makes perfect sense from the elites.

During the Iraq war, they told us that embedded journalists were a bad thing because the immediate news was not given "context" by the elites, and therefore had their own kind of bias (a bias of unbias?).
