Rice for 'Strong Message' to Stop Syrian Intimidation in Lebanon U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice called Sunday on the international community to send a "very strong message" to Syria that any continued interference in Lebanon would not be tolerated. Asked about the failure of the latest Arab League mission to re-launch an inter-Lebanese dialogue, Rice decried what she said were Syrian intimidation attempts in Lebanon.
"There needs to be a very strong message to Syria that that is not going to be tolerated," she told journalists flying with her to Paris, where she is set to participate Monday in a conference on Sudan's Darfur region.
"So anyone who talks to Syria needs to be sending that very strong message," she added
Interdiction bombing campaign = “strong message”.
Works for me.
1944 - G.S. Patton sends a strong message:
1945 - Harry S. Truman sends a strong message:
2007 - Condie Rice sends a strong message:
"If a man doesn't strike first, he will be struck first"

We are losing blood and not fighting this war the way it was supposed to be fought. Should have been “Shock & Awe” from the beginning and kept up until it was TRULY “Shock & Awe.” Once again it is the politicians fighting their political war that is costing us the blood of our military.
...or the Comfy Chair. Yes! That's it! The Comfy Chair!
Fine bucko, then let Bush and Condi stop deluding us and themselves.
Our generals and gvmnt have been saying for years that arms and men killing our troops are coming from, or via, Syria (and Iran).
Is that an act of war or not?
As to Condi, she is ridiculous and she makes us look bad here. Can't do anything about it? Just zip it.
Oh, we should not stop at "strong message."
We need a firmly worded message. That'll show them.
Condi Rice is almost as incompetent as the President she serves.
I say we give them a truly defined line / border.
Carpet bomb a 3 mile swath and leave nothing standing.
But I forgot you can't win hearts and minds that way.....and we've given up on instilling the fear of god in them.
We are engaged in an all out war for the survival of our civilisation, and our politicians and generals think that showing the enemy an abundance of quarter, and exercising restraint on the battlefield at the expense of our own troops' well being will so impress our enemies that they will lay down their arms and join us in a chorus of Kumbayah.
We are doomed to repeat history unless some folks in the national command authority and in boots on the ground start taking this thing seriously. It seems increasingly apparent to me that the only reason we study Sun-Tzu or Von Clausewitz anymore is for the purpose of doing the opposite of what they suggest.
