What a little stalker you are!

Got your *ss handed to you so many times on the FairTax threads that you’re in so much shock you gotta go disrupt other threads to delude yourself into thinking you’re somehow relevant?

For your info, not that it will help because your communication filter is clogged, I never said the FairTax repealed the 16th Amendment. I said “the FairTax and the repeal of the 16th Amendment”. This example right here shows why you have a communication problem. You read things into phrases that are not there.

But for your mollification, if by some miraculous clearance of your communication filter you are able to view through the perception tunnel that separates your conscious from reality, the FairTax movement has every intention of repealing the 16th Amendment after the FairTax is enacted. Look it up on the webpage, FairTax.org.

Also this may be of help:

In Colorado, it is common practice for government employees to retire and then return to work on a part-time basis.

They do that here in Illinois, but I wouldn't call it common. They are suppose to have a special skill set, etc..

“That shows that averages are meaningless. Some are underpaid, some are overpaid. It really depends on qualifications, skills, amount of work done.”

Not to argue your premise, but I wonder what the lowest paid government job is?

“My only complaint about the post office is that they should sell packing supplies — bubble wrap, boxes, etc.”

Our hometown post office has all those for sale.

Really? They do a brisk business in them?

I’d also like to see more automation for routine services, such as small package and express mailing. And a system for creating typewritten labels for packages.

Yes, I always see people buying boxes, envelopes, bubble wrap, tape, etc. A lot of people that have something to mail don’t seem to know the requirements of the USPS. So the clerks sell them this stuff to properly mail their things. The USPS has some new requirement about not having other writing or lettering on boxes. It keeps people from reusing boxes.

Yes, the post office sells packing supplies, but the prices they charge are outrageous.

Our post office has one of those self service kiosks. You can mail a package by putting it on the scales, follow the on screen directions and use your debit card or cash to buy the postage.

Creating typewritten labels would be a great idea! Some people’s handwriting is not to good, shall we say.

True, I guess you pay for convenience.

The kiosks in my local post office are always down.

What slows the lines (from my observation) are the questions folks ask. A kiosk set up to answer questions, such as what documentation is needed for an overseas package would also help.

The USPS has some new requirement about not having other writing or lettering on boxes. It keeps people from reusing boxes.

They don't care if you reuse boxes, but they want you to cover existing markings so there's no confusion about what is in the box, or where it's going. That is particularly important when the box originally contained anything that is restricted (liquid, perishable, hazardous, etc). This policy actually makes sense.

OK, I misunderstood the part about reusing boxes. I usually wrap boxes with white or brown paper prior to mailing. It makes them look nice!
