I feel like I live in the United States again. McCain-Feingold is patently unconstitutional, and no one - no one - can tell me what to say about politicians.

I don’t know whether to cheer or fear what ads may come in the next cycle.

Don't go too far just yet. We haven't killed the ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION law that will make us look like Mexico in 5 years.

It was, in part anyway. The part that was challenged this year.

“Thank God-free speech is what America is about.”

Not if you are a student off school property.

LOL, even for a lawyer this was a no-brainer. Minors promoting illegal drug use hardly meets the free speech test.
Cheers,

So corporations and unions get more free speech, but if me and my buddies get together to take out an advertisement in the local paper, MCCAIN STILL RESTRICTS MY SPEECH?

Die, Juano McCain / Feingold.

Die, Juano McCain / Kennedy.

If such a “no brainer” why did the lower and appellate court need to be overruled? Probably because they wondered what business if was of the school if kids are doing things off school property.

Anyone in a union knows... every single thing you receive in the mail is a campaign mag that tells you how to vote.
It’s like DNC magazine; Whether it’s nurses, electrical workers, teachers, construction... no difference.

It was the ninth circuit court that was overturned. Most of their nutty leftist rulings are overturned, or a large portion of them. Again, it was on a street directly in front of the school and the school was in charge of the event. And the school had a no drug or drug promotion policy so they told the student to take down his BONG HITS 4 Jesus sign. Sorry your pet drug took a hit in this ruling. (Just kidding)

Note that the older conservative justices wanted to totally reverse an earlier court decision, while the Bush appointees just said that the Wisconsin Right to Life’s ads weren’t covered by the particular provision ruled on. Interesting. I’m getting terribly skeptical in my almost mid-20s age, it seems.
