I'll wait till I read the ruling before responding to your hysterics.
You don’t negotiate with terrorists or teenagers.
This is a terrible ruling that basically asserts that kids are constantly on school property no matter where they are at what time of day or night.
Minors while at public school are basically under the direct jurisdiction of the government. There is no surer sign they are second class citizens. Public schools are their own little 1984. Of course, I’m the same age as the Columbine kids, so I remember the travesties that happened in the sensationalism afterward.
No, they do have free speech, but even free speech has it’s limits.
When you walk into a school, you leave a majority of your rights at the door.
This student was advocating an students perform and illegal action on school grounds during a school sponsored event. If he hung up a sign that said “Slit Throats for Allah Today” it would be no less illegal.
I don’t care what you may think about the legality of smoking pot, in the end, as of now, it’s illegal and you can not put up signs telling people to do something that is against the law at a school function.
What a nice thought.
Sit down.
Shut up.
Listen to your elders, RESPECTFULLY.
The Public School system was stolen by the far left and turned into a leftist, hyper-humanistic, amoral indoctrination camp.
The fruits of this coercive system has moved the country further and further away from the values of the parents and toward the values of the liberal and godless left.
Minors have always faced restrictions w/regard to their freedom.
At a school-sanctioned and school-supervised event, petitioner Morse, the high school principal, saw students unfurl a banner stating BONG HiTS 4 JESUS, which she regarded as promoting illegaldrug use. Consistent with established school policy prohibiting such messages at school events,
as anyone can see it was a school event therefore subject to school rules, hence becomes on none issue
Although FREEPERS are happy about this ruling (ok...most), this means that if someone is outside of school passing out anti-abortion information, then the school can intervene. Not a good rule in my opinion. Bong for Jesus is worth having if the conservatives can have there sayings too.
I would think that is a good thing.
