On Thursday, June 28, radio host Larry Elder will debate illegal immigration with fellow host Al Rentel.
Debate will be during the 6 pm portion of Al Rentel show on KABC radio. (In S. Calif area)
It will be interesting...
Rentel opposes the Senate immigration bill...Elder supports it.
Monday morning I heard the promo for Elder's show...He was critical of some radio hosts who accused Prez Bush of doing nothing to enforce the border...
Two other hosts on the same station got upset with Elder. In his promo, Rentel asked for a debate with Elder...Morning host, Doug M, also asked for a debate.
In the old days, Elder and Rentel got along very well. Now, a different story...Many months ago, Elder criticized Rentel for not asking former Congressman John Leboutiller(spelling?) tough questions. John L. wrote in his column that Prez Bush still suffered from alcoholism. Elder critized Rentel for not challenging that assertion. Rentel was not happy about the criticism...
I think Rentel and Elder will have some areas of agreements...They both don't like giving automatic citizenship to children of illegals.
There will be some fireworks. Elder was not happy about the label "open borders supporter".
I heard that people could be in the audience during the debate. Tickets are available...

Larry Elder has become a first class Bush butt kisser. I never listen to him anymore.

When I read “Al Rentel” I was trying to figure out if it was a new terrorist group. More coffee...
His name is Rantel.
As a fan of both Larry and Al I hope this issue doesn’t ruin their friendship.
Illegal Immigration is an emotional issue
But not worth losing a colleague and friend over one issue.
On Tuesday, Al Rentel and Larry Elder again took shots at each other.
During the AM show, Rentel stated that Elder used the term “yahoos” to refer to opponents of the Senate bill.
In the afternoon, Elder expressed his unhappiness over the level of discourse on Rentel’s show. Elder stated that “dumbo” was used to refer to Prez Bush...He also heard that “skeleton head” was used to refer to Secretary Mike Chertoff. Elder stated that one would exprect to hear those terms used on Air America...He did not say whether those terms were used by Rentel or his callers...
