Dean Barnett is filling in and a caller wanted to discuss the Mexican truck issue and NAFTA super highway in ligh of todays vote. In keeping with the show, the caller was dismissed as "paranoid". The Mexican truck issue is real and they will be running over your loved ones soon if W has his way. I called and was sceened out, they aren't taking calls about that.

That seems to be the pattern there. A recent caller wanted to discuss the effort to revive the "assault weapons ban". He was dismissed because Hugh doesn't think anyone should have a machine gun. Rediculous.

I told the screener, keep pushing Romney, Rudy, and help the 'pubs be lost for a generation. This show is no friend of conservatives. If you like RINOs, Hugh has the ticket. But if that is what the GOP is today, I have had enough.

Let Hugh know what you think, or not. But he doesn't speak for me. And that is fine, many like him don't need me. But don't blame me for what you get. And don't threaten me with Hillary.

I think I can speak for a lot of Conservatives, when I say, we don’t like being at odds with our leadership, we really don’t. But right is right, and this bill is soooooo wrong! And for me it is the last straw, after being abandoned on several other core issues these past few years.

Did he really say that to the caller? There was a story he did couple of weeks ago about an Ethiopian at a college somewhere wh had bought an AK-47 and ammo. His roommates turned him in and in Hugh's comments on the story (talking about "Sudden Jihad Syndrome") he called the AK an "assault weapon".

As brilliant as he is on Constitutional Law (and he is brilliant) I can't believe he confused a semi-automatic rifle that can only fire a SINGLE round with each trigger pull with an assault rifle which fires MULTIPLE rounds with each trigger pull.

It's bad enough that we have to fight the Marxist Democrats about our Second Amendment freedom but we've also got to keep correcting the uninformed views of guys like Hugh Hewitt too.
