And who is to say al Quaida or some other terrorist cell doesnt intercept these weapons before the so called “good iranians” get these in their hands to amazingly become inclined to do what we want them to do.

Mandarins, huh? I like MS too :)

I dont pretend to know who the civil servants of iran are... all i know is that is one messed up society, in ways that Mao never had to deal with i’m sure. Islam is the religion of death there is no rationality to it. I’m sure the folks in China are way above that.

I have never understood how the US came to be seen in our media as some sort of pariah.

Our media is controlled by socialists and communists and their dupes who want the U.S. to fall so that their world wide socialist state can arise in the ashes.

Basically, they are crazy to believe that would be the result; but that is what they really believe. Rather like I'mamadjihad believes that a nuclear holocaust will bring the 10th? Iman out of the well and usher in the Islamic paradise on Earth.

Yes that underscores my point, why would we be funding the young iranians to over-throw the mullahs when they havent done so since the much hyped soon to be overthrown Iranian govt never occured? As much as they hate their own govt. they havent proved to be as pro American as they are claimed to be. Basically I will believe it when i see it. For all I know they’d be laughing at the “stupid Americans” for giving them “free guns”.

Iran's recent gasoline price increase of 25 percent left the price of fuel at about 10 cents per liter, still some of the cheapest in the world.

HFS Batman!

Damn, at that price I could afford to drive my old Firebird Formula 400, that had that wonderful push you back into the seat feeling up to around 140mph.

I kick myself for ever selling that car.

“Beginning to go or just a large flash in the pan?”

Totally meaningless. As long as the Mullah’s have all the guns, they’ll have all the power. If the people get uppity, well, that’s nothing a few beheadings and some public beatings won’t cure.

I heard that the Democrat Congress has defunded further research and development of penetrating nukes.

Once heard it said by a historian that the Persian Civilization never recovered from the Mongol invasion. Not sure how to evaluate that statement, but it sure is intriguing to mull that one. What would the Shia branch of Islam become if it weren’t the bulwark against repeated Asiatic invasions?

I can understand the pessimism about there being an Iranian revolution IN TIME to prevent the need for us to have a military confrontation with Iran. That might be so.

However, all 'revolutions' that are not based on a realistic understanding of human nature all fail in time, with the fall of the Soviet Union being a prime example.

Still, the colorful revolutions in the Iron Curtain countries were aided and abetted by the United States and Pope John Paul II. Just as our Revolution in the 1700's would have failed without the support of France, so it is that an outside agency is often necessary to support internal revolutions if they are going to be successful.

When the mullahs recall all of the soldiers and paid insurgents back to Iran to put down civil unrest then and only then is something of significance beginning to happen.

“Angry Iranians set fire to a Tehran petrol station and chanted anti-government slogans in a north-west area of the capital in protest against fuel rationing introduced in OPEC’s number two oil producer.

A witness said flames rose from the gasoline station in Pounak, a poorer area of the capital, with cars burning inside.

Some youths hurled stones and chanted, “Guns, fireworks, tanks, (President Mahmoud) Ahmadinejad should be killed”, the witness said.

Another witness said riot police had gathered near the gasoline station and sought to push the rioters back.

Before rationing was introduced, some media reported scuffles at petrol stations between drivers queuing to stock up.”

Firebird. Nice. I had a ‘59 Vette I never should have sold. Reading the above it looks like Americans aren’t the only ones who love their cars and driving!

No big deal if they do. the real bad guys have serious weapons already and do not need a few extra SINGLE shot, small concealable hand guns. Not a factor in suppression tactics by the bad guys but a major tool for the unarmed good guys.
