There is no nice way to describe what happened yesterday in the Senate...which failed the American people on the most critical border-security vote... a set of amendments... to give senators plenty of political cover: They can vote for a bill replete with provisions that undermine our defenses against criminal and terrorist aliens and set the stage for an explosion of the welfare state and massive tax increases in the decades ahead, while approving a couple of amendments in order to give senators political cover.
These amendments will either be defeated on the Senate floor (or stripped from the bill in conference), but amnesty advocates from both parties hope they will fool at least some of their constituents...
Yesterday, the Senate began debate on a series of amendments...designed as fig leafs to enable Republicans to pass a bill that is palatable to Big Business, Big Labor and the National Council of La Raza. As to the rest us, the spin is that they improved the bill, or that they really tried to make it better but just couldn't muster enough votes....
In many ways, the Graham Martinez amendment epitomizes why the American public trusts neither Congress nor the Bush administration...nearly all the security provisions in the immigration bill mirror existing laws that aren't enforced... And if anyone seriously believes that illegal aliens in any numbers will be forced to return to their home countries to apply for visas, we'll sell them the Brooklyn Bridge. Sen. Arlen Specter, Pennsylvania Republican, let the cat out of the bag the other day...

Betrayal by Congress and the Republican Party and even our Prez. becoming frequent.
At least the traitors are now out in the open...
“In the end, the following 20 senators who voted against cloture on June 7 reversed themselves yesterday and voted for the illegal-alien amnesty bill: Robert Bennett, Utah Republican; Jeff Bingaman, New Mexico Democrat; Kit Bond, Missouri Republican; Barbara Boxer, California Democrat; Richard Burr, North Carolina Republican; Norm Coleman, Minnesota Republican; Susan Collins, Maine Republican; Larry Craig, Idaho Republican; John Ensign, Nevada Republican; Judd Gregg, New Hampshire Republican; Jon Kyl, Arizona Republican; Trent Lott, Mississippi Republican; Mitch McConnell, Kentucky Republican; Lisa Murkowski, Alaska Republican; Mark Pryor, Arkansas Democrat; Olympia Snowe, Maine Republican; Ted Stevens Alaska Republican; George Voinovich, Ohio Republican; John Warner, Virginia Republican; and Jim Webb, Virginia Democrat. Sen. Sam Brownback, who missed the June 7 vote, also voted for amnesty.”
These are the RINOs who need to be fired from office for not representing the will of the people and not fulfilling their oath of office to protect the USA from all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

Now we know who in our government, whom we elected, is willing to put the interests of non-citizens and big business ahead of the best interests of the American people. Very sad and disappointing.
There are no words that can explain what is now happening right before our eyes.
The deep hurt caused by the sell out of American by the Senate is akin to a man or wife having elicit sexual relations with his or her neighbor.
Somehow this always leaves a situation where one or the other must seek a divorce.
In this case, the cheating Senators will have their divorce papers served in November of 08.
Does the slogan “Remember The Alamo” mean anything to the cheating turncoat scumbags.
I certainly will not forget what these lowlifes have done to America.
Larry Sabato
So correct.
BTTT. And let's not forget we even had a Bush as vp for eight years before that.
That's just wrong.
And yet, what both the Republicans and the Democrats don't want to say out loud is that they believe that it is the duty and obligation of my generation to pay for their tab.
But hey, who said that slavery and involuntary servitude was truly dead in the United States of America...or should I say, the North American Union?
And we can’t be sure which votes are honest votes, and which are designed to give specific senators cover to say they voted against this or that, but their overall voting pattern will have supported amnesty.
Some are suspicious of the Cochran (Ms.) and Bayh (In.) No votes yesterday. We’ll have to see how they vote on later critical votes.
I think we need to start a few recalls after this is over with....
Can’t provide a link right now, but according the article I read yesterday, the amnesty bill will allow the U.N. to control U.S. immigration laws.
according TO the article
Thanks for the names. I donated to four pro-life candidates for the 2006 elections. Three of them lost. The only winner was Congressman Tim Walberg from Michigan.
I just checked to see if there was anyone I should be contacting to ask them to return my donation. None, worse luck.
But if any Freepers donated to one of these guys, they should be calling and asking for their money back.
...whose most exciting day was March 31, 1981.
OMG, I don’t remember the exact date, but I’m 99.9% certain I know EXACTLY what you are talking about.
Larry Craig, say it ain’t so?
