Voinovich sounds like he needs his diaper changed.
I heard him live and in color yesterday. VOINOVICH will definitely vote for the Fairness Doctrine legistlation, or whatever they will call it at the time, when it comes up for a vote after that interview.....
The senator was filibustering and Sean was trying to get him to come back to the original questions and answer how he could vote on something and be so totally uninformed.
Sean could not let the Senator's B.S. responses go unchallenged.
They should be voting soon.
A heckuva lot more secure? Based on what? The two miles of fence we've built? Is this guys nuts?
I completely disagree. It is a Senator's primary job to actually read and understand the legislation he/she votes for. I would add that the good Senator has duty duty to the American people to analize the costs of any bill that crosses his desk. This is usually done in committee. This bill never went through committee.
Voinavich showed beyond a shadow of a doubt what a clueless, uninformed, out of touch political elitist that he truly is. I'm ordinarily not a Hannity fan. However, in this case I applaud him for exposing this self serving elitest.
If asking informed, pointed questions about legislation currently on the table and expecting informed, pointed answers is a trap then we need a bunch more traps......
I had lost every bit of respect for Sean Hannity due to his constant shilling for pro-abortionist, anti-second amendment, pro-radical gay agenda, pro-illegal alien scumbag liberal Rudy Giuliani. This smackdown of Voinovich has earned Hannity a little respect. Now, if he’d take his Giuliani kneepads off and start giving real time to actual conservative candidates, he’d earn a lot more.
Hear, Hear!
I heard this yesterday, and thought Hannity handled him well. Hannity wasn’t the only one interrupting, and frankly if someone isn’t answering the question, force the issue. That’s what Hannity did.
We got it. You don’t like Hannity. But let me tell you, I lived under this dork running the City of Cleveland. One would think that after Kucinich, anything would be better, but you would be wrong.
He got in on the death of his daughter Molly and let George Forbes run the city. The downtown are thrived while the neighborhoods dwindled. Without Forbes pulling his strings, he is nothing but a name. And it shows.
You can add the Indiana senator, Richard Lugar, to that idiot clown list. Lugar is morphing into Jimmah Carter more and more each day and is increasinly an embarrassment to the citizens of the State of Indiana. His latest comments on Iraq were just plain wrong and not helpful to our troops serving everywhere. Instead of speaking with President Bush about Iraq in private, Lugar makes a grand entrance on television to express his views. Total, total idiot. Voters need to clean both houses during the upcoming elections....if need be...we will vote third party...
Unbelievable and scary - great job, Hannity.
Hannity did go on to the next question-
“Senator, how much is this bill going to cost the uS taxpayers in MEDICARE and social security benefits? Have you done a cost analyis? Heritage says $2.5 TRILLION, What are your figures, sir?”
After skating, blustering, and bloviating on this question, that’s when Voinovich really went off the shallow end headfirst and pulled some figures out of his butt, about how 30-40% of the illegals didn’t want to be US citizens would go home after 10 months and never collect social security anyway. Read the transcripts!
“Going on to the next question” (after accepting blathering non answers) is how liberals like Chrissy Matthews conduct “in depth” interviews.
Just listening now, this clown does not know what the fairness doctrine is.
He needs to check into a Sunrise.
Thanks for posting the transcript. I heard the interview twice yesterday (Sean replayed it in the last half-hour) and I still can’t believe what I heard.
At least this bill is dead... for now. Proud to be a FReeper!!
Voinovich does his Elmer Fudd imitation.
Fudd Fan is not amused.
“We got it. You dont like Hannity.”
If you read my entries here, I say repeatedly that I am a fan of his. I listen to his radio and watch his show. I’m saying that he is turning more and more into a one dimensional talk show host who has an agenda, true it may be the right agenda, but just the same, I would rather see him produce a quality interview rather than to put some one on, just to tear him or her down. Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of people out there who deserve that.
I didn’t get the impression that the senator was going to vote for amnesty. He also said that he voted on the REpub Texas senator’s bill, (although he apparently was wrong about the outcome.)
Hatch, did come across in comparison as more prepared.
Is the OHIO senator mediocre? Yes. But, I simply didn’t like the way Hannity conducted the interview. He cut the senator off several times like some little kid with a tantrum.
Wow. I’m in Ohio, and its no surprise that Voinovich was talking out of his backside. Hannity obviously got his point across, Voinovich voted No today.
As I recall, he said that he didn’t read the Heritage report. Frankly, even those numbers are suspect.
When the senator tried to explain about a third of the illegals not wanting citizenship etc. Hannity wouldn’t let him finish his thought.
I agree about Matthews. HIs show is anything but “Hardball”. It’s more like “Curveball” as he loves to set up his guests with the unexpected. I hate to see Hannity ending up like him as he doesn’t need to do that when in an interview.
Did you ever see a Bill Buckley interview? I recall one he did of a young Jesse Jackson. KIlled him with kindness and made the audience aware of who the man really was without brow beating him.
The idiot senator interrupted Sean before he could even finish a question. I’m not really a fan of Sean’s interviewing style as a rule, but he did all citizens a service with this interview yesterday — graphically illustrating what kind of elitist jerks we have in congress.
I have faith in the voters of Ohio to rid themselves of this incompetent boob. They’ve already booted DeWine (who also deserved it).
