Here we are again my friends, hopefully for the last debate thread on this particular monstrous legislation. Proceedings are supposed to begin at 9:30 a.m. EST, with the cloture vote being taken at 10:30 a.m.

On a personal note, you've all been wonderful in your passion, vigilance, and commitment to the principles on which our country was founded. If I have to be in a foxhole, I want to be in it with you guys.

Without doubt, Arlen Specter is Arlen’s Specter’s favorite guy. Except for maybe Kennedy (and now Voinovich, I guess) I can’t think of a more arrogant, power-drunk creep in the Senate.

I think there is some bitterness, amongst the flipp-floppers, about exposure to unknowns produced by Reed’s last minute juggling. This bitterness can work in our favor because these are those that are getting most of the heat.
