Jim DeMint and Jeff Session are national heros. God bless both of you for standing up for the rule of law and the American people.

Romney has been an opportunistic conservative. I don’t believe that he is a philosophically grounded conservative. His positions on gay marriage and abortion are examples.

Well, that's what many people think who didn't take the time to review his record (which I provided you). His opinions on those topics you mentioned were actually quite moderate for that dark blue locale. Many people have taken the time to review his record in order to make an informed decision instead of relying on MSM talking points regarding what he said years ago instead of what he actually DID. His actual record is very conservative and speaks for itself.

This chart at post #44 is also quite eye-opening regarding his long-standing conservative positions:http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1857354/posts?page=44#44

________________

People don't have to support him, but it's unfair to distort his actual record.

I doubt a good man like Sen. Jim Demint would have endorsed Mitt Romney if he was not convinced of his conservative credentials.

We get it. You support Romney. I could vote for him if he is the nominee, but I trust Thompson and Hunter more to be consistent conservatives who won’t be swayed by the Washington Post once they get to DC. Mitt’s positions have been situational at times, and I have read his record.

I agree about Hunter — he has been quite a consistent conservative. Great congressman. As for Thompson, I have checked his record too, and I trust him a little less due to the fact that when he was in DC he was swayed by his long-standing alliances with McCain and some of his policies, bills etc IMHO. In any event, we have far superior choices than the democrats have. May the best man win.

Now... ride the wave and introduce a BORDER CONTROL BILL -- with no amnesties, legalization, or other crap -- and stop the illegals from coming in! It makes no sense to bail out the boat while you're still taking in enough water to sink you!

Not just the illegals but the terrorists too

“There is a better way forward without this bill. The President has said that the border security measures can be implemented over the next 18 months, and they can be done under current law. Now the Administration needs to prove it and stop holding border security hostage for amnesty.”

Thank you, all Republican Senators who voted for and with the American Voters!

I, too, look forward to the day when Sen. DeMint is the Senior Senator from South Carolina, freespirited.

BuhBye, Sen. Lindsey Shamesty.

Now if only we could do something about my Senators Osama Obama and Turbin Durkin!

The American People Won Today.

This is the day the Lord hath made. Rejoice and be glad in it.

Thank you Lord. Perhaps my grandchildren WILL have a great America as our legacy after all..

Absolutely; Senators DeMint and Sessions were the two most important leaders of this effort to save our country from this horrendous legislation; They were out front from the very beginning of this process and were leading the charge against this bill; They deserve thanks from all of us for their leadership and willingness to fight for what is right in the face of immmense pressure from Big Business, the Republican leadership, the media, and this sell-out administration; (Also, special mention of thanks should go out to Senators Vitter and Dole who also stood firm throughout this process)

Phew! Thank God for Senators DeMint and Sessions. Our citizenship is still worth something. As is the rule of law.

The American People DID win - TODAY. We won as we won over Harriet Miers and the Dubai Port Deal.

But we must not be complacent or overly sanguine. They will try again.

FURTHER, we have to deal with a President and Attorney General and Administration who are just as happy to let the situation continue as it is now.

They intend to allow more and more illegal invaders - primarily from Mexico - in here WITHOUT building the border fence Congress had approved in the past - thanks to the efforts of Duncan Hunter and other patriotic Representatives and Senators who put the initial fence law through.

They will only make token arrests and deportations.

The “compassionte conservative” we thought was the man of our dreams has turned into a nightmare and too many Senators in the House of Lords demonstrated their contempt for us and our opinions. Additionally, they are plotting to re-introduce the “Fairness Doctrine” which they hope will cripple internet sites like this one and talk radio so the ONLY messages out there come from the New York Times, The Washignton Post, ABC, CBS, CNN, TNT and NBC - all liberal.

What we need is a grass roots organization to:

a) Support a Conservative for President in the Republican Party - Fred Thompson or Duncan Hunter

b) Work towards adoption of resolutions by state legislatures to amend the Constitution by reducing the term of office in the House of Lords to two or three years.

c) Contact our REPUBLICAN Representatives and urge them to draft articles of impeachement against Bush if he and Gonzales fail to STOP the flow of illegals into this Country and if they fail to enforce the laws of the land with regard to immigration laws.

d) Work toward English as an Official Language in the U.S.

Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty and the many enemies of the freedoms so many brave Americans have fought and died for since 1689 (The First French and Indian War - King William’s War) will have all been in vain if we allow these creatures to seize OUR government from US, as they so readily demonstrated they intend.
